Not sure why you'd solely equate this with modern football. Leeds United, Liverpool, Palace and Coventry City all substantially and permanently changed their colours in the 60's and 70's. Apart from Cardiff City, I'm struggling to think of any example since 1992.Even asking the question demonstrates all that is wrong with modern day football , sponsors that dont understand or care about supporters and any feelings they have !!
