Yaya - a time to cash in?

Re: Yaya - a time to cash in

He's definitely a player to keep and a master of many abilities, most notably passing. He rarely misplaces a pass, even the cross field balls are spot on. He's definitely someone to keep as he will more than likely revert back to a holding/deep-lying playmaker type role under Pelligrini, and playing that role he can extend his career by many years more.

Re: Yaya - a time to cash in

I agree that a lack of defensive discipline is a weakness in his game ... and its something that cost us a few times last season (and the previous one too ).

He's also a creative genius with power and skill in equally overflowing measures. He's been pivotal in so many of the really big games under Mancini, despite being asked to play basically, every minute of every fixture by Roberto.

I'd agree with previous posters, that he should get a rest now and again and maybe tweak his fitness regime (surely the staff should be getting that right) ... defensive mistakes and lapses are often the result of fatigue after all.

It will be interesting to see how Pelle sets things up, as I'd agree that a Yaya and Fernandinho partnership would be vulnerable to the top teams, with clever playmakers but thats what he's getting paid millions for I suppose !

A Matuidi type is an intriguing option, who might be perfect to knit it all together in a way that none of our current squad could ....

Fascinating to see how it all pans out anyhow .... but lets not suggest, we just sack off one of the most uniquely talented midfielders in the world, after one inconsistent season please.

Definitely going to put the cat amongst the pigeons with this one.

I think we are in a perfect position to sell him and aquire a specialised player like kondogbia or gundogan. I know most people will be like, he's our best player, he's a beast, he won us the fa cup and the title.

However let me paint another picture, he's a jack of all trades but a master of none whose value is only going to decrease parallel to his stamina. Yes when he runs at defences he's frightening, but that won't be his job next season, and as a defensive player I find him very lazy and petulant at times. There is no doubt he's been a hero for us but I think now is a time we think of whole team dynamics and I can't help think, he could be a possible weak link, especially with his stamina and tendencies to go missing even tho he was alledgly pro Mancini.

So cash in or keep?

Are you out of your mind?

You can't post anything against yaya. You must be a wum, a rag even, yaya is a god.he can do no wrong.

Except you are bang on the fucking money.

Need a big season from him this time round. Let's hope pelli sorts him out and gets him back to his best.

Re: Yaya - a time to cash in

I'm on my way home in a taxi..and a bit pissed

My reasoned input is this...

Have a fu#king word with yourself

A time to cash in??? Sure...if we're short of money and need a few quid to stay afloat.

Let me put it another way...

'Man United sign Yaya Toure"

How would that headline make you feel on a Monday morning!?

I'm sure fuc#in Duncan Jones and Zinedine Cleverley would be delighted

Some people!......

Re: Yaya - a time to cash in

He's a great player and I want us to keep our best players so there's no way we should even consider getting rid.

The addition of Fernandinho will help him and in all honesty people should stop expecting him to score a hatrick and clear five off the line every match this is not playstation.
