Re: Yaya Toure

Bob,he is mucking us about, disrespecting everyone
He is a 31yr old man at an exciting club earning a fortune. The agent works for him,he could put this to bed without asking his minder first,he is being a prize dick

Re: Yaya Toure

I would be astounded if our club haven't plans in force for either eventuality, whether a sale or stay. Further even though I am not a betting man I would say that if he is sold that the player brought in will cost less than yaya is sold for.

Re: Yaya Toure

I do see where your coming from Bob i do but a few points...

I doubt his national manager would be to happy with all this so would ask him to shut seluk up also surely?

Why was the speculation started by him and his agent/rep before the world cup if it was his only focus?
Seluk is his rep, he does exactly what the job title suggests.

I had 3 other decent points to note then but the second one alone puts a bit of a spanner in your main hypothetical situation.

Re: Yaya Toure

ALL Ivory Coast players with injuries went to Doha at the end of the season:
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.qfa.com.qa/toure-visits-aspetar-ahead-of-world-cup/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.qfa.com.qa/toure-visits-aspe ... world-cup/</a>
In recent weeks Aspetar has also provided medical assistance to some of Toure’s other national teammates, including Didier Drogba, Sol Bamba, Mathis Boly and Lacina Traouré following an agreement struck between the sports hospital and the Ivory Coast Football Association earlier this year. Seen as a glowing endorsement of Aspetar’s expertise and facilities, the partnership deal means the sports medicine hospital will be on hand to provide medical support to all Ivory Coast footballers in preparation for, and during, the World Cup.

Aspetar are providing the medical backup to the Ivory Coast. And if you didn't notice YaYa has been carrying an injury since the Liverpool game.

Doesn't stop him being tapped up be PSG while he's there mind...

Why can't we just wait until he gives that statement after the World Cup?

And oh god if people think Barkley could replace Yaya they're sadly mistaken.

I've already said there's no-one out there as good as Ya Ya, but if he keeps this bunko up much longer there will be no bridges left to burn and we'll need an alternative. You got a better (and realistic) suggestion than Barkley up your sleeve?

As for waiting until after the World Cup, why the fucking hell should we indulge such showboating knobbery? If his plan is to stay, then he could easily say that now
Yaya has answered those questions himself. He's focusing entirely on the World Cup as it's probably his last go at winning it - unless he plays at this level until he's 35 he won't be travelling anywhere with the Ivory Coast again. If he believes these ridiculous stories to be nothing but rumours, which is pretty much what he's said they are, perhaps he feels he shouldn't have to waste time dismissing them when he's got a huge international tournament to prepare for. When it's over we'll hear what he has to say for himself, but until then I won't be swinging either way on this matter.

If the worst happens and he does leave, I could see us lining up like this next season if we get our targets.

Hart
Zabaleta - Kompany - Mangala - Kolarov
Fernando
Fabregas - Fernandinho
Navas - Aguero - Silva

Would you complain if that was our system next season? Replacing Yaya with a like-for-like is impossible, so impossible that attempting it would be stupid. He's a linchpin that could only be replaced if his role in the side was divided up between two players and our system was altered to fit Barcelona's style of a holding midfielder, two creative midfielders, two wingers and a false 9 striker.

I'm sorry, but this is absolute cock. He was asked a direct question last night and gave a protracted bullshit, fudge of an answer. And given that he was clearly prepared to provide an answer to that question, it would have been no hardship to have responded with a 'yes' or a 'no', and ended the matter once and for all. The notion that he refuses to waste time replying to ridiculous rumours, would carry a little more resonance if those rumours hadn't emanated from his own twitter account. The man is fully aware of the shit storm that he himself has created, and he clearly cares not a jot for his own reputation at City, nor whether he treats the fans or his employers with arrogant contempt

We are going off facts here not rumour or hear say.

I am not bursting any blood vessels personally but if others want to they have fair reason tbh mate.
I understand some will defend him. You can't say maybe this and that and expect it to hold water against facts though bud.
Users are pissed at verified facts and in any other walk of life people would use the same reasoning and logic.
Hasn't the entire story come about because of rumours and hearsay? The only fact we have is that Seluk made these comments because we've seen him on our TV screens. Everything else is open to interpretation, whether it's the source of those tweets on Toure's account or the comments Yaya's made in the media. The only thing we know for sure is that everything in Yaya's mind will be out in the public domain when the Ivory Coast's time at the World Cup comes to an end.

We have no idea why Yaya isn't putting this to bed, but don't you think he would if he could? What if he's wanting to clear the air but can't because he's been forbidden by his manager? What if his manager has said "No, World Cup for now, City later"? We have no idea, and until we do any rash decisions shouldn't be made. How many people were made to eat their words about Tevez when he came back and refreshed our title bid in 2012? I'd rather not make my bed on this just yet.

Yaya has set a date, so I don't think it's fair to say things like "He should be sold" until that date arrives.

So young.

(Reuters) - Ivory Coast coach Sabri Lamouchi said he was treading a fine line in his World Cup preparations as he caters for players fatigued by their club seasons and those short of playing time.

"We have many players at different levels of physical fitness," said Lamouchi in Dallas where the Ivorians are holding their pre-World Cup training camp.
"We have players like Kolo Toure (of Liverpool) and (Turkish-based defender) Souleyman Bamba who have played little.

"There are others too who have not had much game time at their clubs, either because of injury or because of a lack of confidence in them from their coaches.

"We have to give them opportunity. On the other hand, we have to allow those who have had a long season time to recover.

"Players like (Salomon) Kalou, Gervinho and (Wilfried) Bony have had long seasons," he added in an interview published on the Ivorian Football Federation website (<a class="postlink" href="http://www.fif-ci.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.fif-ci.com</a>).

"The idea is to get to a level of consistency in our fitness after our first week of training and before, or just after, the match against Bosnia. We want the players as close as possible to a 100 percent capacity," Lamouchi said.

The Ivorians play the first of two warm-up friendlies in the U.S. against Bosnia and Herzegovina in St Louis on May 30, followed by a clash with El Salvador in Dallas on June 4. They will arrive in Brazil on June 6.

At the World Cup, the Ivorians have been drawn in Group C and compete against Colombia, Greece and Japan.

What! no mention of Yaya, how disrespectful.

Not a criticism of the club but as we found ourselves two seasons ago and United found last close season buying top class players requires a lot of work prior to the end of the season and if Yaya has just dropped this bombshell it could make adequately replacing him very difficult. As highlighted by the comments of Soriano we have already lined up our signings just as we bought early last close season. Replacing Yaya could prove difficult unless we act fast and scupper another deal.

Re: Yaya Toure

With the facts we have, id say its safe to assume thats agent and player speak for a transfer request. We all know he stands to lose Millions by actually asking for one, if i was the man who had the final say id be looking at life without him.

Im sure with his age members of the management team will have already been looking at how the team works without him, also who we get to replace him. All great teams need to replace world class players its just a simple fact of football. In my humble opinion id cash in on an aging asset whilst he is held in high regard and able to command a large fee. Added to the reduction in his wage bill, i dont see the need to turn this into a saga, i certainly do not think we should be kept hanging around until after the world cup. By that time everyone else will have deals in the bag and cherry picked the best, we get left either paying well over the odds or stuck with the best of the rest.

Imo id be seeing whos going to flash the right cash at right now...

we could always take the other option i suppose, but that all sounds a bit like something United do now, and i dont fancy giving in to anyone like they did with Rooney. City are not a club that needs to do that now or in the very bright future.

Re: Yaya Toure

If we were to sell him, I would only sell him to a club outside the PL and *CL*, even if that meant a lower transfer fee. The last thing we need to do is to strengthen another CL side.

If he isn't prepared to accept that, he then stays and see's out his contract.

Apart from the a lower transfer fee, City win, and Yaya has to accept what's put in front of him.
