Yes. You'd have to change the system a bit as there's no like-for-like replacement but I think we could be a better team without him, we'd certainly be more able to implement a high pressing game.
Ultimately we'll have to learn to live without Yaya whether it's next season or in three years' time. If Txiki and Pellers think we're ready to do it now, they'll sell, if not, he'll stay.
He's a great player and has turned up in a lot of big games, but sometimes i question whether he is a liability in terms of the way that we are wanting to try and play.
Before anyone quotes me, im not saying Yaya is a liability, im saying in terms of the way were trying to play ie high pressing and being on the front foot
In a lot of games last season a decent midfield played around him because he doesn't have the pace to close them down quick enough, and before you know it their at our back four
We would have to move one or two things round but this could actually see us start implementing a 4-3-3 if we wanted to as we would have 3 midfielders that can get about the pitch for 90 minutes
