Yaya Toure - commits future to City (page 855)

Re: Yaya Toure

If you could ask Yaya one question, what would it be? Mine would be this...

So Yaya, Manchester City have won a domestic double and you played a pivotal role in that. With that said, so soon after the event, why have you decided to make everything about you, you selfish thick mardy twat? And what the fuck is with that bell end of an agent?

Technically that's 2 questions I suppose ;)

Is Yaya's agent/Yaya just insane or is there a strategy for this?
I think he's just absolutely insane Damocles! :D
Seriously though, I reckon he was asking to be put up to Rooney's wage level and the club turned it down, after that Seluk started threatening to find Yaya another club and that's when the public outcry started, but due to a number of factors i.e. City's unwillingness to sell for less than a premium price (good on you Txiki if true), his age, wages, length of contract and his fruitloop agent, there weren't really any takers, so rather than bow down and apologise contritely, his agent has tried to come up with another bullshit story to save face with the fans and media, only he doesn't realise that instead of climbing out of the hole that he's dug for himself, he's just digging deeper and deeper. So, a strategy, but an insane and senseless strategy.

Re: Yaya Toure

Does this have anything to do with Yaya?

Normally you would by definition tie player and agent together with one representing the other, but you only have to look at the history of Yaya and the agent at City to see that he makes very outlandish claims with Yaya doing something else eg signing for City and extending his contract

Ta :-)

Yaya happy. Agent is a prick. Fans 50/50 on matter.
50% of fans think yaya and Seluk are twats and 50% think they are a pair of greedy arseholes?

^^^^^^ :-) Oh yes

Re: Yaya Toure

I really couldn't give a flying fuck what Yaya's bonkers agent says.
If Yaya wants to stay at the club and help us to more silverware, then I'm happy.
And if he wants to leave, then he goes with my blessing and thanks for the silverware we have, and I'm happy.
Folks really need to lose some of the kneejerk hysteria and apply a bit of pragmatism and perspective here.

I'm similarly perplexed by this Damo ... i've boiled it down to three pretty simple scenarios ...

1 - They have an offer from somewhere (contractual) and they want the move and this is all an attempt to drive his transfer fee down.
2 - There's no offer but they think this is the best summer to move financially and are shaking the tree to see who falls out.
3 - He wants a new contract.

The problem is I don't believe this is about money in the sense that he wants a new contract at City. I believe they know full well they won't get another one after signing one which takes him to 34 years old last summer. If this is about example 1 then I can understand it. If the case is example 2 then it's the worst way to try and drum up business for your client I've seen for quite some years.

He has a kid named after him, i think they are pretty tight knit tbh Marvin.
They must be in constant contact, must be.

I know i nearly swallowed a Hobnob biscuit whole, he said the way Liverpool treat their players and the club in general is the best!!! especially Suarez after the biting incident, the guy is surely on fookin drugs!

This guy is comedy gold, he is a bleedin lunatic haha.
This stuff is officially funny now for me.
I kind of want him to go apeshit again just for the incredulous comedy value.

Any negative press on city has the media hacks all over it...why feed em...it can't be good for the club.
City have been trying to win hearts and minds and then Yaya supports his agents mad ramblings. I for one am tired of the negative media circus. Why can't we just get on with attracting the new players and sponsors we want for this season.
Example of the media circus is on talkshite now, Hawksbee and Jacobs saying that the Etihad should be renamed the Yaya Stadium to keep him happy, oh how we laughed.
They also said his agent has come out with this gem ''when Yaya leaves City he will be discarded like a piece of used toilet paper'' to be fair to H and J they are calling the man as an utter lunatic
This circus has gone far enough now, get rid of the pair now before they damage our club much more

The press response to this is just getting better and better, and has now probably balooned into something that unfortunately for Yaya will define his career. Always a birthday joke waiting in the wings, always an image of a cake, a crazy agent.

This coaching/technical director crap is equally as funny. He'd be near the top of your list for someone who wouldn't be good at those things.

Can you imagine him trying to explain something to a group of kids?

The only damage being done is through loons that take this agent seriously and can't distinguish between one man and another

You really think this comedic farce has damaged Manchester City Football Club?
Here's a bit of friendly advice mate - turn Talkspite off, make yourself a brew, and relax.
Because when you start to give credence to third hand Chinese whispers on the daftest radio station on the airwaves then you are seriously close to psychic meltdown and being sectioned.

People need to factor in that his agent is a complete fruit loop and has come out with this kind of shit before, not just at City but at other clubs too.

For all we know, the club could be relaxed about the whole thing (instead of going into meltdown like much of this board has done) because they know what Seluk is like and don't take his comments particularly seriously - for all we know, Khaldoon, Soriano, and the Sheikh could be rolling around the floor laughing about all this and thinking "I see that fucking weapon Seluk is on one again!" That's why I'm not in a rush to condemn Yaya. Of course, it could well be that there is a motive behind all this, in that he is genuinely unhappy and wants away, but I can't help thinking this was perhaps a minor issue that has developed into something more serious purely as a result of his agent's insane ranting.

Yaya Touré wants to be Manchester City’s Zinedine Zidane, says agent http://gu.com/p/3petz/tw #mcfc

Yaya Touré wants to be Manchester City’s Zinedine Zidane, says agent
• Dimitry Seluk says Touré wants technical role – not money
• ‘Zidane played at Real Madrid then became sporting director’
• Barry Glendenning: five of the worst transfer excuses

What the fuck ? We already have world best sporting director.

yeah, Yaya as sporting director, buying players from who I wonder...hmmm...let me see, couldn't by any chance be Dimitry Seluk?

So transparent, hope the club sees right through this and tells them to politely fuck off, you have a 3 year deal and if you want a role that you can't siphen money out of, then you can be the CFG Global Ambassador or City's African Ambassador.

I wouldn't trust him with the club cat (if we get a new one), let alone our transfer business after this episode.

We'll be bottom of the table next season and not have a pot to piss in.

You heard it here first.

Cakegate will resign us to the list of clubs competing for the sherpa van trophy.

I'm serious.

Re: Yaya Toure

Some fantastic over reactions in this thread. This has happened before with Seluk, pretty much every year and it's no different this time, just a funnier, more insane topic he has chosen. As for Yaya should 'destroy' his agent, that's not going to happen either as the guy has, by bizarre methods admittedly, done a pretty good job making his client one of the best paid sportsmen on the planet wouldn't you say?

Huge misstep here, and the fool has sadly made Yaya look a bit ridiculous, but no harm done to City, and you can see how excited our rivals are that a) there's a tiny possibility he may leave which is great for them as it weakens us and b) an even tinier possibility he may sign for them! Not sure why so many of our own fans are keen for that to happen - what has been said that is SO unforgivable and serious? I just don't see it. Especially not by Yaya, who has said in the past that he speaks for himself. If I hadn't read this thread I wouldn't have imagined so many would be so worked up about such a nonsensical event?

Brennan said Yaya was complicit by the way

Yep, while the whole thing is utterly bizarre it's not much different to what Seluk said last year just prior to Yaya signing his new contract - I don't recall as much mouth-foaming on here back then.
