I would hope we sign a creative CM if Yaya does leave, none of our other CM options have a real playmaking ability, a Fabregas / Kroos type of player maybe, although I can't think of any player who would be available of the top of my head.

Fernandinho has no play making abilities ?

I wouldn't say so no. He is very good box to box and doing a bit of everything but compared to Yaya or other creative CMs he's not going to dictate a game as a hub, in my opinion.

He did that pretty well in Ukraine, i think he was asked to simply play a diff rope here so far.

Fernandinho created more keypasses than Toure last season.

Thing with Fernandinho is that he does everything so quick, you don't notice his work, he's like a ghost.

Yeah he's been playing in the wrong position all season.

When we signed him I thought Yaya would play in a reserved role and Fernandinho further up the pitch, we played like that in some pre-season games, e.g. against AC Milan whom we hammered 5-0 within 30 minutes.

Re: Yaya Toure

If he goes which I think he will I'd like to replace him with 1 of the following fabregas/pogba/barkley/di maria/rakatic/modric/eriksen surley we'd be able to get 1 of them at the right price!

I just went back 30 odd pages to try and find out the latest, only to find everyone calling each other rags and planning on buying a few 8 balls. Can somebody please point me in the right direction of some intellegent conversation as, as you may know, I only partake in the serious side of the site. Thank you.
You'll be able to find that on a different Manchester City forum.

You need to watch Chelsea vs Shakhtar Donetsk.

Buy Hamsik from Napoli, job done

Re: Yaya Toure

Ya Ya and his agent are behaving like utter wankers. He has had probably his best season yet with us and they are using the leeverage of him wanting to leave to hopefully squeeze some more money out of the club. They are forgetting one small point....he is still under contract for the next three years.

I know he has often hankered about returning to Barcelona at some stage but they were happy to sell him to us when he was a lot younger,so what makes him think they will buy him back now?

A compromise will probably be reached as how do you replace a player like that, there are not many out there similar, but it has left a sour taste and will sully the memory of what he has done for the club.Still i suppose for todays greedy footballers that is way down on their list of priorities.

Maybe, I just feel when under pressure Fernandinho doesn't have that ability to make the ball stick with him like you see others. No doubting his passing ability. I was thinking more along the lines of how Yaya plays now or similar to Xavi / Alonso / Pirlo play for their teams in how they can pick the ball up in CM and dictate the game. Like TCIB said, it could just be the role he has now I haven't seen that from him yet.

I don't know tbh, but from memory the games he didn't play season just gone were against lower league opposition for the most part and we dropped points against pool and sunderland without him in the league.

Thought that was the case.. when YAYA's name is on the team sheet I bet it scares the shit out of opposition players

Lol

Sun has a piece with seluk going off on one again, lady bob quoted it about 3 pages back bud.

Thank you very much kind sir.

Re: Yaya Toure

Such a shame Yaya is allowing his agent make himself look an utter twat after such a phenomenal season for him personally. Obviously he's anchoring for a new deal and not interested with a move away so why come out with this daft birthday cake nonsense?

Amazing player but City shouldn't give into his wage demands, let's not forget he's contracted to us till 2017. We shouldn't be looking to be taken to the cleaners like Stretford were with Shrek, we're not desperate ffs.

Re: Yaya Toure

I didn't quote it all, just the relevant parts referenced by Billyshears about fernando and also Txiki Begiristain sweeping the streets

You are talking about the deep lying play maker. The one that distributes the ball from a deep position and controls the game. Here he is:

Fernandinho's zone is in and around the final third of the pitch.

Ermm. We were 2-0 down against Pool when he went off and then played them off the park in his absence and but for Kompany having a brain fart and Silva being too small, would have turned it around to win.

Fernandinho started that attack.

Yep.

Re: Yaya Toure

There will be a compromise. Toure will be allowed to leave for an agreed fee at the end of the season.
This will give us 12 months to work on a deal for Reus.
