Fellaini's a good shout, and with better players around him he could slot in, though he's no Yaya is he? I also wonder how much pull Yaya had in getting the big names here. Players seeing City sign Yaya Toure from Barca, looked at his pedigree and thought 'fuck, i'd like to join him there'.

To be honest, Yaya's pedigree was not close to what it is now when he was at Barcelona.

He earned the status of one of the best players at City, not Barcelona.
Yes, course he did!

Fuck him off n every other fucker that wants to go or doesnt put 100% in they can all go... I dont support city for victory ect.. I do it cus i love the club.

Dont care if we win trophies or not.
That'd be about all of them this season then.
The difference is you're a fan, they're employees of a club they care little about in the scheme of things.

His stock, and status certainly increased with City. Not many players would move from Barcelona, but see their status as a player increase.

He was always known as being a top quality player there. He was never talked about as one of the very best midfielders in the world, i.e in the top5. He is talked about as being in that bracket, now.

He needs to do that today cos if he has a bad game at newcastle he will get some noises from the crowd he hasnt heard before (not by me as i wont be there)

If he goes then he goes. Not a lot we can do.

Big loss though as he has been a major part in our success.

His FA cup goals and goal at Newcastle were priceless and he will always be remembered for them.

Personally I would pay him and keep kolo for another year as a sweetener!

I think us not firing Kolo's ass for failing a drugs test was sweet enough

Re: Yaya's agent says he is ready to quit...

Quite a few posts on here stating we should not worry IF we were to lose Yaya. How exactly do people think we will become a great side if we lose players like Yaya? The likes of him, Silva, Aguero and Kompany are the key names to attract other really big players.

Whether we like it or not we are not big in players eyes when compared to the likes of bayern, barce, milan, madrid, scum etc, so we need to build on players like Yaya to help attract others like him to our club.

We have had to buy and pay players well above market value to attract them -we need to then use them to attract others, not sell low and buy more expensive, and for sure if we sold Yaya we would get a fraction of what we would have to spend to replace him - who could do what he does, and what would that cost, assuming such a player would want to come?

FFP is real, people on here have scoffed at it for years and said it will not affect our owners, that they and we are too clever - well it is real and it is here to stay, and losing prize assets is not a clever way around it, in my opinion.

Keep Yaya City

I hope this is sorted with Yaya staying at the club. He is the probably the best "world class" player in our team who produces in the biggest matches on a regular basis.

With many of our personnel linked with leaving it must be a very unsettling atmosphere within the club.

It's often said new players take 12 months to settle in a club, if thats the case it may be hard to push for the PL title and CL success next season.

I remember Gary Neville saying City were likely to dominate the PL for the next 10 years because we would only strengthen with our transfers!

The rags must be chuckling.

That's the problem. We could and we should have, and we didn't. We chose exactly the wrong time to start playing hardball with players and agents. We haven't earnt the right to throw our weight around yet and this season proved it.
We came out with far too much bullshit from the start. We looked naive and unprofessional at times. We were taken for a ride far too easily by club and agents, we overspent on transfer fees and overspent on wages from day dot and we were also utterly out of touch with reality with some of the signings we tried to make - which again made things more difficult for us as we then showed everyone how much money we had to spend. We were third from bottom and tried to sign Kaka for £80m. What the fuck was that all about?

Since then we've been very inconsistent with the quality of players we've been buying and inconsistent with how much we've bought players for. And we've missed out on loads of targets because we've started doing what we should have done from the very start by trying to be a bit sterner with clubs and agents in the market. But clubs and agents are just looking elsewhere instead and there are that many clubs at our level and above it's easy to just byepass us and get top dollar from somewhere else.

We aren't big enough, successful enough, prestigious enough, our stadium isn't good/big/iconic enough and Manchester isn't a good enough city for us to have started changing the way we handle things in the transfer market.

I'm hoping the new board members go a wholly different way with transfer dealings from now on.
