Yaya Toure signs new five year contract (merged)

Re: Yaya's agent says he is ready to quit...

If there's any truth in the quotes and YaYa is angling for a move then as a club we have to go all out on getting the best price we can on our terms. The days of players treating this club as their own private plaything are behind us and nobody should be in a position to make us look weak.
I have loved having him at City and for all the times I've gritted my teeth and told him to get his lazy arse off the floor in frustration - the sheer magic that he has then delivered more than makes up for it. He's a genuine world class player and there's not many out there who can do the things he does - that said he's indispensable in the same way that every other member of the playing staff and management are. If their heart isn't in it anymore then go and don't let the door smack you on the arse on the way out - Manchester City are bigger than any one individual and regardless of our financial situation I'd hope that that's how it remains.

Re: Yaya's agent says he is ready to quit...

If he could reach the form of last season then yes, but going on this season's form then let him go if he wants. 250k a week can be split over two players. Decent fee in and wages for other players then yeh I wouldn't be too bothered. New contract by Sat, do me a favour.

Re: Yaya's agent says he is ready to quit...

good job hes not a rag, he would have a welcome party of m.i.b's when he gets home from international week...!!! personally my view is that if its true he can go fuck himself, lets get the best price possible, and replace him with another top drawer player... you never know, we might get someone who tracks back, as well as score and do dynamic runs, and... DOESNT FUCK OFF FOR 1-2 MONTHS EVERY JANUARY!!!

Re: Yaya's agent says he is ready to quit...

He owes the fans to deliver for the rest of this campaign, also put himself in the shop window, after that it's adios Yaya, thanks for the memories.

Keep Kolo though as back up lol.

Re: Yaya's agent says he is ready to quit...

50 million pound will be reasonable price for him.

Re: Yaya's agent says he is ready to quit...

if this is coming from YAYA as in instigating his agent to speak to the media I'd sell him in the summer can't stand players threatening our club!

o'k

The so called big teams won't pay anything more than £25m for any player

Specially not for 29 years old on huge wages.

Yaya and his agent know that very well, they don't have too much ammo in their hands and Yaya would get his current City contract somewhere else on St. Never Day.

Only hardballs... if not, City will always be treated like Shanghai FC by players and agents.

Re: Yaya's agent says he is ready to quit...

We have been through all this before.
I suppose we have to trust the people in charge because they are the ones responsible for the money.
If they decide Ya Ya is worth another contract then so be it but I suspect the days of us being dictated to by agents and players have gone and quiet right.
Personally, I suspect wehave seen te best of the player so ifwe have a cunning plan to replace him then you wont get any complants here but on the other hand, I would worry if the squad got completely ripped apart so if we signed up a few of the reliables such as Ya Ya it wouldnt be such a bad thing either.
