Yaya Toure

If we have seen the last of Yaya in a City shirt then i will hold him in high regard. A pivotal part of our recent success. A scorer of some amazingly important goals in his time with us.
A player little old City signed from one of the biggest clubs in the world!
Not sure if we should call him a legend. Although we can say some of his performances were legendary!
A £24 million pound bargain!

You're not sure if we should call him a legend!

He's probably the single most important player this club has had in the last 50, maybe more, years. It was telling that Pellegrini was so animated talking to Yaya as they left the field, which I think was all about Pellers telling him just how important Yaya has been; that was certainly what I took from Peller 's post match interview on BBC radio.

One of the big problems Pellegrini has had is that Yaya's ultimate successor needed signing last summer. The decline of Yaya and other key players mirrors City's decline in league form.

Absolutely spot on - if Yaya is not a footballing legend for us then I don't know who is. Now before everyone starts I also saw Bell, Lee, Summerbee etc but without Yaya don't think we would would have won what we have. Agreed that we needed his replacement last season as it was obvious his legs had gone. Great player and will take some replacing.

i understand his importance to our recent success and thats why i mentioned his legendary performances. Hes been amazing for us and hes almost single handedly won us games and trophies. Hes been a joy too watch and ive loved watching him. He has been a machine for us. He has produced some of the finest moments i have seen as a City supporter. im not denying any of that. And Im still a massive Yaya fan.

ah fuck it, who am i kidding? of course hes a bloody legend mun!

If only he held the club in as much respect as we have had for his incredible contributions and freakish all-round technique.

Thank you, but the well has run dry and it will take someone very special to fill your giant shoes.
Someone like Paul Pogba maybe?

Could have done without some of the off field shite but definitely been our best ever player and absolutely integral in all of our successes. Thanks for the memories Yaya.

Thanks for everything you've done Yaya, one of the best in a City shirt but time to move on....Clearly has very little left in the tank and think a slower league (Italy?) would be a better fit for him now.....I hope we dont make the mistake of offering him that 3 year deal he was after....
