yaya.....

To all the doubters.

Watch his goal again against Cardiff.

Watch how he won the ball back after losing it, ran with the ball, with Cardiff players struggling to keep up with him and backing off in fear, then watch the pass to Sergio, the return, and the finish by Yaya.

Make no mistake about it, Yaya Toure is a WORLD CLASS PLAYER. And more importantly a City player.

Once Yaya has another few trophies under his belt, his claim will certainly be stronger than Gerrard and Fabregas, if it isn't already.
He's only 30, so I'd say that he has a couple of years left at the top level before he inevitably starts declining. I don't think he would ever make an all-time eleven (if it is indeed a 4-4-2) but he does have a case for the fourth or fifth group of centre midfielders.

IMO:

1) Keane-Scholes
2) Vieira-Gerrard
3) Lampard-Fàbregas

His longevity in the league is definitely a negative. In terms of ability he ranks highly. I'd like to see if he continues at this pace for the rest of the season, though.

if we were in the CL final tomorrow and 3 of our 4 MF were Nasri, Silva, Fern, who out of the 6 players you have given above would you have over YaYa in his spot ?
Keane, Vieira, Scholes, and Gerrard.

I really don't understand the indignation from some people here. This is arguably Touré's best season and it is arguable whether or not he has been the best central midfielder on his team.

I actually can't see how Touré would ever make an all-time Premier League eleven ahead of the aforementioned four, at least. Perhaps one of you could explain your reasoning instead of trying to unsuccessfully undermine my argument?

He has not been a better midfielder than the likes of Keane, Gerrard, Scholes, Vieira, Lampard, and Fàbregas.

You are entitled to your misguided opinion but you are very wrong !

i just asked a question fella ? if you read my first reply to your initial post you will see i say "good debate" so i cant see how asking a question is unsuccessfully undermining your argument,
i have always said Vieira and Scholes when picking all time PL 11 but now feel i would go for Toure over Scholes as i cant see what Scholes would give in any department better than Toure, and even if its fine margins Scholes is much more likely to get sent off,
playing a 4-4-2 there is no way i play Keane & Vieira in the same MF and Vieira would take the more defensive spot for me so i go for Toure to do the more attacking role next to him over anyone else,

I don't think this is Toures best season. The numbers suggest otherwise but he definitely is not suited for a midfield paring.

Surely saying Touré would not make an all-time Premier League eleven does not constitute as "deliberate trolling", right?

If you're not trolling you must be ever so slightly mental.

Did someone poke Yayain the eye?

To all the haters, watch my video ;)

Though Yaya hasnt been at his best defensively I still think the way he controls our game, ability to create chances, burst through opposing midfield and score goals is irreplaceable. His not in the team for his defensive but his attacking ability & the way he dictates our play. This is why I think Paul Pogba is the perfect replacement (likewise he isn't the best defender but atm is quicker and more agile), brilliant passer of the ball, scores goals at a similar rate to Yaya and is a force in midfield. Because once Yaya goes how the hell are we replacing him... And to all the doubters there's got to be reason why most football fans (even the Barca/Madrid fanboy) sregard Yaya at least in the top 3 CMs in the world and one the greatest ever African footballers in history, absolute Legend and a player every club in the world is envious of.

WTF is this all about?

Good call [THUMBS UP SIGN]

Makes me chuckle every time I open this thread .......Some quotes will just keep coming back to haunt you!

Speaking to French radio station RMC, Toure revealed that he is 'scared' that City could be drawn against the Paris side in the Champion League.

And when asked about a possible move to the Ligue 1 champions one day, he said: "Anything is possible. Why not? In life you never know.

"Everything is going well right now at City, but you never know.

"When you have a great team like them, where there are already great players, it obviously draws your attention.

"Being part of an adventure like this, a group like this, it is exceptional.

Found his comments bit strange...I thought he loved us and would end his career here....isnt loyalty to club important any more
