Your Christian (or first) name

I know a couple who had a bit of a falling out because the wife was very keen to call their daughter Hannah Barbara, normally it's the bloke who wants to be a bit of a twat.
I know a social worker who had to apply to court to get a kids Christian name changed.
His dad, a Mr Pipes, had decided to call his son Dwayne, I kid you not

not too keen on mine.
Simon is very non Scottish. In fact it’s more English. When I was a kid I absolutely hated it. I saw myself more as a Rab or Blair or Cameron or Angus. I’m not sure I will ever make Scottish President called Simon. :-(

Couldn’t really give a fuck what my name is. But it does irritate me ever so slightly when you meet someone for the first time and they ask you your name and I say ‘Stephen’ and they immediately go, ‘Nice to meet you Steve’ And I’m like.. What the fuck you bother asking me my name for if you’re just gonna call me something else anyway?
Ste, Steve, Steven and Stevie Wonder.

It’s fucking Stephen that’s my name not an abbreviation or some stupid play on words.

Yes it’s fucking annoying.

My mum never ever called me anything other than Stephen, my brother James she always called him Jimmy!

I was introduced to a mates, sisters new boyfriend. I said, pleased to meet you. I'm Paul.
He says, likewise, I'm Steve O. End of the night I say, see you later Steve. He says, it's Steve O.
I say, like fuck it is.

I was called by my middle name until I was about three, then my parents decided to change to my first name.
I only found out when I was 52. It felt weird when I fund out.

My dad was called by his middle name his whole life.
Over the road from my childhood home, Margo and David called their son David but we all called him Craig which was his middle name. It was to avoid confusion with his dad.

My late father was Gerald but forever known by his nickname of Farmer.

I like my christian name, I am aware me dad wanted to call me Levi but my mother wasn't having it only think that I don't like is when it is shortened or spelt wrong on documents as it has two spellings a right one and a wrong one
