YOUR starting back four.

Home and Away - that's a quality back 4

Zab, Kompany and maybe Barry as options if we get injuries or need to rest players.

Difficult to see where Dunne fits in now - Ned has the edge on him already imho.

I'd have Dunne instead of Lescott. He has to prove himself first to take Dunneys' place.

I would personally have Zab over Richards. I dont know if its just me but Richards yesterday (especially 2nd half) hasn't learnt the lessons from last season. Time after time he was letting crosses come in. He has to get tighter and stop any player getting a cross in. A top team would have punished us yesterday.

It seems there is quite a debate on whom they prefer playing in defence with Zab/Micah at right back, Dunne/Toure at centre back and now Joleon/Bridge possibly at left back.

Just want to see what people see as our strongest back four now.

Personally i would go for the following...

HOME.

Zab
Toure
Lescott
Bridge

AWAY.

Micah
Toure
Nedum
Lescott

Best line up by far

I don't think its advisable to chop and change the back four. Now we have Lescott MH's will be looking to establish his chosen four and get an understanding between them. I'd play Zab over Richards but apart from that I think our back four picks itself now-

Richards------Toure-------Lescott-------Bridge

It's great we have players like Onuoha and Kompany as back up, but I think that's what MH's sees them as. Look at Zab, he played his socks off in pre-season and was looking on top form but hasn't got on the pitch for us yet. In contrast RIchards got swine flu, missed pre-season and still managed to keep his place. The signings of RSC, Bellamy and the drawn out pursuit of Lescott shows Sparky knows who he likes and sticks with them.
