Yes, that's what always sticks in my mind about that match (the song). It was a Sunday afternoon game and they'd thrown away a 2 goal lead against Galatasaray during the week. It came back to haunt us big time. I recall Keane and Cantona ran us ragged in the 2nd half. City thought they had it won but in customary fashion blew it.
One of the worst feelings ever, but it wasn't my worst ever City game.
I would agree with the Bury 0-1. I remember my mate and me leaving the ground saying it was rock bottom, we'd never ever seen anything as bad as that and that we were both seriously thinking of jacking it in. I gave him a lift back to Openshaw in complete silence. As I was dropping him off all he said was "see you in a fortnight then". It made me laugh then and still makes me smile now.
Thank God I didn't jack it in (although there was still a lot of pain to come, of course).
