Zabaleta confirms he will stay at City

I this is great for several reasons. I can see him being very useful as a kind of utility LB/DM role. Pep is unlikely to ask his LBs to part wide so his loss of pace is less important.
But above all, I really hope this means the club want him to have some role once his playing days are finished

Where has this idea that Zabaleta can play DM come from? He's nowhere near good enough on the ball, and the previous occasions he played there he was overwhelmed by weaker opposition.

Good news on zab. We can't sign a whole new team and I'm not keen on ditching one of our most I fluent ian players after 1 injury plagued season. Why does everyone suddenly want to get rid of all our players as soon as they hit 30 btw? Zab could have 2 years left in him yet. Despite his good season at 33/34 I'm just as if not more concerned about sagna next season. Come in zaba let's have it lad

The thing with Zabaleta is that if he goes you're not just losing the player, but the man as well and that's arguably even more important.

Because Pep claims technique is something you can always improve, at any age.
