Zabaleta confirms he will stay at City

Possibly because the last time he played there, he almost won us the game v the rags with 10 men & probably nobody has played a better game in that position since.

How he could play a game like that then not even get 20 mins in that position under Pellegrini, when we have been shit in midfield, baffles me.

I wonder if the reason for his downturn in form is due to carrying an injury rather than being burned out, as we thought.

If Pep's happy with him. I'm delighted.

"He nearly won us the game", no he didn't, he's got none of the required attributes to play in DM in a Pep side.

He'll be sold this summer, and I wish him all the best, but there's no way he should be playing for us anymore.

Yes he did, he was like 3 men & turned the game on it's head.

He was fucking fantastic. If not for Nasri nodding in Utd's winner, that display by Zaba would have gone down in history.

They didn't do much of that dragging last year though did they.
No they didn't. I suppose whether you think we need a clear out depends on whether you put the underperformance of the majority of our squad down to poor management or to seemingly all of them becoming average players at the same time and very rapidly and with little prospect of them ever turning that form round.

He was phenomenal in that game, all heart and warrior instinct, however, when we started to get on top it was due to the sub of scholes part deux, I could of played against him that day (:

I love zab and he should be afforded a chance to prove himself but he looked completely shot to me, hopefully he can reinvent himself but I fear time waits for no man!!

I'm of the same opinion based on his lack of recovery this season but, if the reason for him not recovering is injury, & Guardiola knows, then it all changes.

Not aimed specifically at you...but I think people forget that footballers are not immune to the effects of life that affect us all...having his first kid who will now be about 14 months old im not surprised he has looked knackered for that time.

this

looking at the squad Zabba is surely a must keep for the Pep transitional period that will hit soon

I hope so

I think Pep is the best judge of whether he has it any more. But man, he just looked bad at times out there and got owned by the speedier players. Still deserves a chance to show if he still has it.

He played right wing back as richards went to make up the three centre backs. The last game he actually started DM I can remember was Wigan in Jan 2009.
