Zabaleta confirms he will stay at City

Would love to keep him, especially as we will only get circa 2.5m for him, but fail to see any role he could play

If Arteta can hang up his boots to become Pep's assistant, then surely someone who is City through and through, can be given a role at City? with the amount of Spanish speaking players we have had/have/will have, it could be a good move if he can go and get his coaching badges, become some kind of defensive coach at City and also help with their integration?
We need to show some continuity, and what better way to show how a "jouneyman" defender can become the best full back in the Prem, and become a City Legend in the process?

Agree with the above. Other people have said 'no room for sentiment ' but with Zabba there is every room for it! I'm certain Pep will find a way of keeping him for all his clear attributes. News of his demise might be a tad premature.

Love the guy.
Completely agree

Zabbas problem is he's got probably about 4 years football left in him at a lower level..
Then retirement and then coaching if he wanted it.
Its his call regular football or probably the bench at city.
The type of guy he is you can see him wanting to play as long as possible

There's a nearly 4 year difference in age. Zaba doesn't feel like he's ready to retire yet presumably.

Great to just read Guardiolas thoughts on who should be captain when Vinny's out included the mighty Pablo Zabaleta. No doubt MadPab has worked his bollocks off trying to impress Guardiola.

I posted in another thread yesterday but in the last few days where that has been focus on players fitness, there could be no such question marks about Zaba who looks lean. Like you say I'm sure Zaba is working hard to force his way in to Pep's plans and hopefully he will be able to.

I hope so. If anyone can come back from that injury it's Zabba. I think he still has loads to offer on, and off, the pitch.
