the clean sheet is the result of joe's saves didn't see how this partnership was any better than vin and lescott. Natastic also seems to have the passing ragne of david batty, as in sideways only, though he is getting used to the team so he may become more offensive thinking with a settled run in the team for me were passing in triangles around the back and midfield at times when wewould break and press last year straight from defence and this is inviting pressure on ourselves at times

Really, so how do you explain the fact that 54 of the 78 passes that he attempted were classed as forward passes?

I prefer to believe my own eyes and not the stats from the Guardian or whoever. The 5 yard passes to Toure, Barry or Tevez when he dropped deep are classed as forward....

He looked solid apart from 2 or 3 passes into touch and a weak back pass that nearly cost us.

He's still a young lad and very new to the country. It's way too early to judge.

However, he is certainly more assured than Savic and, for 95% of the game yesterday, didn't look out of place playing for the Champions of England [*happy sigh*].

Could not be more wrong. Honestly he looks the most composed with the ball and most forward thinking of all our central defenders, and he's 19.

read again never said he doesn't look a good player but that his passing range needed expanding on, and it's not just him as said this little triangle of the centre backs and barry passing around when last year we played straight out to the fullbacks. this new tactic has allowed teams to press us. sorry if my opinion is not to your liking back in the celler for me

he's easily the best passer in our back 4. That's why he's preferred to Lescott and it's why the rest of the defenders give him the responsibility to pass it out of defence

LOL so a slightly angled pass is classed as forward. Like I also pointed out, alot of the forward passes were short balls to deep lying midfield players, Toure, Barry et al

This stats shit is getting stupid.
I choose to believe my own eyes and as far as I'm concerned, Nastasic looks the real deal. As I said in an earlier post, he reminds me of a young Tommy Caton. If he listens and learns, he'll be a top top defender.

Majia Nastasic = the new Rio Ferdinand(without the choc ice coments and having a twatter addiction!) he's already better than Lescott and I'm a Lescott fan.

And? Centre backs playing the ball short to midfield players is a bad thing?
