Running a Marathon ...

Yeah I'm down for Great Norh West Half in Blackpool next month.

I did that one a couple of years ago. I remember setting off and feeling like I was absolutely flying, I was well up on my target time and feeling confident. After about 5 miles you do a 180 degree turn to head back down the front. And at that point the tailwind that I had unknowingly been benefitting from became a head wind........
 
Did 16 miles last week really did me in..2 small runs in the week then 10 today.
 
Entered the great north run ballot more in hope than expectation of getting a place.

Got email today, saying I've got a place. Can't wait now.
 
How did it go?

Feeling it today - but yep a good experience and a very tough run, the course was very hilly.
