Swansea - Post match thread

Game of two halves today, first half we were brilliant & totally dominated the game. Should have put it to bed before half time. Second half it looked like someone had spiked the half time drinks, it took us about 20 mins to get going. Fair play to Swansea, they were much better second half, but everything good that we did first half went out the window until towards the end. Important 3 points and good to win the game as we have had too many like that this season where we have dropped points after dominating.

With a few tweaks and a couple of new players coming in the summer, I think we will be some team next season.

I know about the contract (maximises his value). But didn't Gabby Logan say something like he's going to see how the next few months pan out to see whether he still has a future here - or am I imagining it ?
 
Some beautiful football in the first half and completely dominated them. Silva Yaya and Sane caused all sorts of problems and it was a great poachers goal from Jesus who also played really well. However we wasted a few good chances as well again with GJ missing a couple of chances along with others.

We stopped pressing in the second half...not sure if it was complacency, inexperience, fitness or what but we just backed off and let Swansea push up the pitch as a unit......however i thought we deserved the win overall

Swansea player was offside but rarely do they get given but it definitely affected Cabellero's reaction to the shot.

KDB was quiet throughout...seems to be a bit erratic his form at present.

Sane who was awesome in the first half dropped off in the second half but as soon as the equaliser went in it seemed to switch him back on......

Great second goal with good build up play with kun, yaya and sane ...great leap and run by Jesus who deserved his bit of luck with the goalkeeper fumbling.

For me, I think Kun can play with GJ...Kun played well when he came on, was involved in the goal and nearly got one himself.

For me Silva was MOTM but hard not to give it to GJ with his two goals but I thought Silva ran the game along with Yaya who seems to revel in his quarterback role.

Well I think she said 'the club will decide' but she missed out the bit about him wanting to stay & being very happy to have a 3 year contract, & being a 'jounalist' (lol) she might have noted the Evening News being given the word by City, that he's going nowhere.

But seeing as the whole show was aimed at pleasing Utd fans, far better not to mention it.

I think a lot of the press and pundits aren't aware that Jesus can play on the wing and has played most of his football there.

If you thought he was like Aguero, just a 9, you'd think it was one or the other.


Now, the fact that people paid to write and talk about football for a living are so clueless and have such little general knowledge of the game is another matter...

I agree with you. 1-1 with 10 minutes to go I think it's mad to leave early but a lot of people are mad.

I think they can play together.

Just play through Jesus when the bus is parked, not Aguero. Jesus will look for Aguero on the turn, like he did when he put Silva through. Aguero will most likely dribble, shoot & ignore Jesus.

So play it to GJ, who is much better at laying the ball off, then have Aguero running off him. Loads of goals.

Been going to City since 67 so remember the Bell, Lee and Summerbee days. But Sergio gave us the ultimate high, scores for fun against United, has a better strike rate than Henry, delivers against the CL superpowers and at 28 is coming into his prime years. I want us to win the CL with him in the team. Jesus is not an out-and-out centre forward (he's an all round player) whereas Sergio is a centre forward. I want to see him getting amazing service from Jesus. The two of 'em combined, fitness and Jesus' development permitting, must be worth 50 goals a season.
 
Jesus plays either side of a front three. Must be a place for Sergio down the middle. I mean as well as his goals he always works his socks off.
