City Fans Leaving Early/Empty seats

That's because Anfield still feels like you are going to a football match.

The Etihad is a corporate soulless fake cheese fest that is in operation to take your money and give you a false football experience.

I was with my nephew who had to be at Bolton for work at 6,he left early.Try berating the ****s who don't turn up for these kind of games !

Can't speak for the metrolink, but the buses are fine. I stayed until the players had left the pitch. Walked to bus stop, and was back in City Centre in 10 mins. They weren't worth bothering with last season ,but works fine now.
 
I left early once in my life, that was when I took my mother who was frozen as it was snowing and that was on 90mins. Excluding that, I will alwYs stay to the end (glad I did back at the old Wembley) plus I do a 520 mile round trip as a s/c holder so I ain't missing a minute.

Nevertheless, if people pay they can do what they want and who are we to critisise? Day tripper, corporate,tourist, whoever.
 
I prefer the posts from early leavers who say they couldn't be arsed staying until the end.

There are so many excuses on here from transport to corporates to "boring" passing football and to attacking the wrong end in the second half. The reality is that we've lost a lot of our passion as a fan base.

People can choose when they leave but let's not pretend 90 percent of the Family Stand had good reasons to leave with ten minutes to go.

Not the one I was on! The queue to get on ground to a halt. I thought it was the usual half wits who although they catch these buses every week never have the correct money ready to pay. After standing there with no progress I walked up to see what the problem was and apparently the ticket machine wasn't working. No problem I had a day saver ticket so showed it the driver and sat down. Of course the bus still didn't move though. Eventually an inspector turned up and started to get people on who had tickets or passes. When the bus did move we were then stuck behind some makeshift barrier that was holding all traffic up until two blokes in high visibility jackets with corporate events moved it.

I have no idea why for a thirty minute window the police can't allow and control the speedy flow of traffic into the city centre so clearing the area quickly and efficiently. As these buses only go there and showsec count the numbers in couldn't there be someone selling tickets to those who need them as they queue, allowing people who have tickets to board so speeding the whole process up?
 
Yesterday was an absolute disgrace. Everybody might have a reason for leaving but we are by far the worst in the country for it. However, that post about Anfield being 'football' ! Dearie me...utter tripe. I presume the poster has not been to Anfield in the past few years as there are far more tourist there than at City.

The family stand had loads of empty seats all game, probably as others have said due to the kids being on holiday. As a rare two days hot weather was predicted a lot probably went away.

Games like yesterday which were a foregone conclusion once our third goal went in and both teams are just going through the motions seeing out the game you can understand people doing one.

I agre Paul that people leave whenever they want. That said, it can't be good for team morale, sponsorship revenue (damged brand) or plans to expand the North Stand that may now be on the back burner.

The demographics of a football fan has changed immeasurably in the last thirty years. The more they treat fans like customers, create artificial " Match day experiences" clamp down on people standing, swearing and having a laugh you will see this more and more. Years ago football was the main event of people's week. Now it appears it is just one of many things they have to fit in. Modern technology has also changed the mindset of the human being too. Their boredom threshold and patience has lowered. Everything has to be instant and now and holding their interest in anything for long is difficult.

A game that is all but over with the team just passing it around conserving energy to many of them will be a non event, over and let's move onto something else so they do.

This and only this, but it's hard to see how it can be done.
The main walking route to town is down Ashton New Road, and it's also the main bus route to town. Pedestrians are too numerous (or too stupid) to use the pavements so the busses are held back for a while. A quick look on Google Maps shows the limited alternatives, but it might be possible to split the road and have busses running into town and the pedestrians on the other carriageway and both pavements.
The tram just can't shift the numbers. I'm told a fully loaded London tube train can carry about 1,000 people and they are scheduled every three minutes through Arsenal station on the Piccadilly Line before and after games. The post-match queue wasn't too bad last Sunday.
A Metro tram can hold about 400 fans and I doubt they run every three minutes. I checked the TFL web site and London Underground maintain the three minute service for almost an hour after the games. We can't even get Metrolink to stack a load of trams east of the ground ten minutes before the final whistle.
I'll accept London fans are happier to use public transport, but that's because their public transport works. We were at The Etihad for 10 seasons before the bloody tram started running.

Doing one! They are supposed to be City fans, no excuses just stay and support the team, never used to happen in the Kippax
