I used to earn a decent whack mate to be fair, but equally, I've never felt I've had any "spare" money. And what spare I have had, has gone to help my sister out of a tight spot financially, and other family crisis'. I know how I felt when I had no personal allowance whatsoever, and half of my earnings were taken away in tax before I ever saw a penny.

The "rich" in this country pay plenty already imo. But apart from that, even more importantly, we are imo debating the wrong thing. The question is how do we make EVERYONE in the country better off, and again imo we do not achieve that by taking MORE money off people. Quite the opposite. If we want a thriving economy and we want to be a rich country, we need thriving businesses and a spirit of entrepreneurialism, which is synonymous with low rates of tax. Tax people LESS and the economy thrives and we have more money to spend on the poor.

so people who've earned their perks and privileges have to give them up to pay for people who haven't earned it, who as members of the left have stated, need holidays and to take their kids to the cinema to avoid poverty.

I reckon terrorism will be pretty high on the agenda, and if May can't beat Corbyn on that subject then she should be sacked immediately. I fully expect Corbyn to beat her hands down when it comes to the NHS and education, and taxing the rich. However, maybe she's been locked in a room with a shit load of media advisors and might not look like a rabbit in the headlights again.

Once the decision was made to avoid debate with Corbyn, they should have stuck to it, I genuinely can't see what she has to gain by going head to head with him. I certainly don't like Corbyn's stance on the IRA, or Palestinian terrorists, or any terrorists for that matter, but any high ground May had will certainly have been eroded given what you've mentioned, and especially if Paxman goes for her (it'll be interesting to see if Corbyn gets stuck in as well). May will probably go for a lot of deflecting tactics by talking about Corbyn's past with terrorists, and could even try to highlight a few of the Shadow Cabinet - can't see Paxman allowing that though.

I genuinely can't see the Conservatives gaining anything from this, and with the polls closing it could turn out to be a bad move.
