I agree. It looked deliberate and his reaction confirmed that for me. If Raheem's improved his finishing as much as his pre season form suggests, phew, what a player we'll have on our hands!

He is trying hard to improve each facet of his game imo. He has his flaws but he keeps improving. It might be that he has shit spells where everyone starts saying he isn't good enough, but he comes back & has another go.

A lot of folks don't seem to recon him in, when assessing the squad but I would hate to see him playing for the dippers against us.

I feel,if we have Brahim and Phil in the squad permanently that gives us two teams with a mix of world class and potential world class. What's not to like?

It's obvious that someone like Sanchez improves our chances a lot on paper, but to me, it makes things almost too easy & that in itself could become a problem, if it doesn't turn out as we hoped.

A bunch of younger players striving for that bit extra, might actually be a lot better, than everyone expecting stuff to happen, because we're 'so good'.

However hard Raheem has worked on his finishing, to start relying on him would be folly ,in respect of that its right that our midfielders have got to increase on some pretty awful stats

I know im gonna get a lot of stick for this but here goes

We still have Bony and I dont see the point of signing a back up striker to sit on the bench. We might as well save the money for January and go all out for PEA from Dortmund. Bony wants to stay and fight for his chance and if Pep gives him until January you never know.

Totally agree - Bony was the prems highest goalscorer at Swansea - as a back up he is decent. Quite happy with him as 3rd choice striker if no one else comes in.

When's Giroud coming in??

We wouldn't be relying on him. We'd be relying on two of the best strikers in the world, with Sterling & Sané as possible backup.

10 - 15 goals from Raheem this season will be a worthy contribution to the team effort. Same for KDB. If Merlin can also muster a similar amount, then we are looking at 30 - 44 goals from three midfield players. We also have Bernardo, plus Gundo to come back who can both chip in. And this is before we even start to consider the front three of Jesus, Sane and Aguero. Yaya will score the odd belter and Danilo is a capable finisher.

My point is, even without Sanchez in the team, we have more than enough goals, and a wealth of players who can crack open most defences, even the ones who park the bus.

Yeah I agree, you can see steady improvement. I've read he takes his development very seriously and is a really hard worker so good for him. Given the relentless flak he's taken from the press and opposition fans it would be great to see him succeed.

Have to say David Silva is my all time fav going back to 1970 but he doesnt do goals

I think his goal tally will be up significantly this season. Pep is working with him.

Whats the latest odds now then on Sanchez arriving ??

I just for the life of me, cannot understand it if Arsenal do not sell him to us this window, and let him just arrive next summer for free when they could get a minimum £50m or so right now

That is a massive loss for them - welcome to Liverpool Klopp (BOOOOOOM) : )
Haha.. it definitely is mate. Was always gonna happen when Barca came knocking. Klopp can say he isn't going till he's blue in the face but deep down he knows he can't keep him against his will. That said,I've got a feeling it's gonna cost Barca a lot more than the 90m they've had turned down already. 100m plus in this crazy market. Why do you reckon Sanchez won't/hasn't done it yet? So frustrating

Call me old fashioned, but maybe he wants to honour his contract; something which seems a bit out of fashion these days.
