Alexis Sanchez

I did. Done up like a kipper tbh.

Been depressed as f*ck for 2 days after reading that c*nts comments.

The way everyone spoke so reverently about his posts, thought he was some sort of insider at the club. Didn't for one moment think that everyone was aware of of his Everton leanings and therefore participating in a mega piss take.

Anyway back on topic: Thank f*ck for that. Still hope on Sanchez.
Haha. Fair enough.

Feels like if we're going to make a move it needs to be now, before they decide to sell Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Strange comment for Guardiola to make re Sanchez. "You have to ask Alexis". Quite pointed. Suggestion is obvious, but whether Arsenal sell, I still doubt.

Not that strange. He was asked specifically about Sanchez so he answered specifically about him.

Sanchez sounds like he's being a bit of a fanny about it all and not pushing as hard as City would like to make this happen. That's my interpretation of Peps remarks.

Yes, we're all being impatient and we have absolutely no idea what the club is actually doing, unfortunately :) . Maybe we've got some agreement with Arsenal in place as has been suggested today.

But based on the prevailing thinking on here (Alexis won't put a request in and the club have only just made a 45M bid and want to wait until the last minute):

I take your point regarding negotiating tactics, but surely we can't say for sure all bids would have been rejected. Once you get the player on side, what is the advantage to waiting about before engaging the selling club? If Arsenal put a 70M price tag on Alexis in July, I doubt they would've rejected a bid of that size just to make a point and hope the price goes higher towards the end of the window.

The money men all have a value in mind for players and I doubt those final numbers are glaringly different based on which side of the sale you're on - you surely can and should hope to get the best deal possible, but not always at the risk of losing out entirely

With regards the club formerly known as Barca, the price is what it is IMO, because they tapped up Coutinho and pissed of the dippers. Waiting till the end of the window could mean, among countless other possibilities that, 1) Barca get desperate and pay the asking price, which hasn't changed despite previous bids, 2) The price drops because the dippers have a player on strike who won't do shit this year and might devalue himself further

Don't think bidding changes a thing, personally. Hope all the speculation ends soon one way or another!!

Maybe some of my points really only apply to this window... but I don't think Monaco were wise to accept our 'early' bid for Bernardo?

I certainly don't think Monaco's valuation at the start of the window would be the same as if he was still their player now..

If Coutinho is £100m plus... £43m for Bernado is a huge undervaluation of him.

I think the selling clubs know that, especially this summer.

Waiting until the last few days of the window optimises the price in a summer that has been crazy.

I guess what i'm saying is.... If the market never goes down, why sell early?

I think he has been asked about him before and he deflected the question,i wouldn't expect anything else as he is being respectful of the arses

As far as I can see, they are stuck with him. Don't know ìf he's in the last year of his contract, but he's supposedly been offered 180k a week to stay at Arsenal, and turned cit down. Surely, even in the current market, no club in theŕe's right mind is going to better, or even equal, that. Exciting young prospect when at Stoke, all those years ago, but has regressed mightily since "Hitting the big time" at the Arse, in my veiw

I see that as Pep saying we want him but can't do a lot until Sanchez makes it clear he wants out

Could be, but the earlier quote isn't quite right... If you watch the presser the "You have to ask Alexis". part comes after he is specifically asked if Sanchez wants to be at City...

Its not part of the original answer.

... and he rightly dodged answering the direct question.

PEP: (Sanchez) is an Arsenal player, like Mbappe is Monaco and Jonny Evans is West Brom. You have to ask Alexis.

Mbappe is leaving so is johnny Evans
So is Alexis?

After that gurdiola was asked specifically if was looking to add an attacker before the transfer window ends
He did not deny it and said he will try and city is linked to no other player other than Alexis

Not that strange. He was asked specifically about Sanchez so he answered specifically about him.
OK. I have not seen the press conference. I thought the way ii was reported there was some subtext there

I'd say it's less likely than more likely we sign a striker. Aubameyang would have also been a good option but looks to be made captain at Borrusia.. with Reus injured and Dembele almost certainly sold.. they need him or Spurs will walk them over in my opinion (especially if Aurier joins).

Reckon we have a left-field signing? Villa anyone?

What? You mean John Terry instead of Jonny Evans? Never happen.
