That would be my preference too. Keep Salah quiet and the dippers are knackered. Rags did it recently & that worked out OK. If they can do it then so can we. If the likes of us have noticed it then you can bet Pep has.

After seeing him out sprint and muscle Aubamayang off it in the Cup final I'm less worried tbh.

I was thinking that at the time, it had been ages since we had seen anything like it... which was my point. One swallow does not a summer make, he doesn't rely on his pace as much any more to my eyes which is probably smart. I was more concerned about him being 100% fit for the reasons stated than the pace/mobility issue(hard to tell what's natural decline and what's lack of match fitness due to injuries, so I may be overstating/worrying about nothing), he does organise the back line better than anyone after all.

Really hope if Sterling does start he finally shuts the scousers up. Would love him to really perform against them!

Didn’t say he was up there with Sterling and Leroy but he is pacey. A tier below the top, add his silky dribbling and he’s a major threat.

Suffocate the midfield and cut the supply to the front 3 and we should win.

And there is only one winner. David was such a miss for us at Anfield. Gundogan is good on his day but he often disappears and was missing frequently there. Fern also had an off day.

I looked at the BBC City and Liverpool best 11 - make your choice. In all honesty, only Salah would get in from Liverpool. But then again, Sergio's in and how could you drop Jesus for Salah ? You would have Kompany at CB and quality player that VvD is, you could not possibly drop Ota for him.

Yea, only Salah gets in at RW over Sterling/Bernardo. The only other possibility is VVD but yea he doesn’t get in over Kompany and Otamendi.

Many of their frequent starters aren’t even good enough for our bench.

That’s to our advantage, as we are not known for tasty challenges. However, with the quality of their diving, it might be an issue. Hopefully, the ref has a quick look at recent games of each team and won’t “fall” for it!

That could be a good thing early doors the dippers will come out all guns blazing,we just need to manage the first 20mins or so the Spanish,German,Italian teams all have the experience that we lack at breaking up the play to take the sting out of the opposition,ref blowing up for the slightest nudge or small foul,saying that it also doesn’t suit us to have a stop start game bar the first 20 mins possibly..

Works in our favour for me this....their so called massive atmosphere will have them gee’d up to the hilt and will make them press like lunatics, if we play it shrewdly enough like barca/madrid and bayern would it will mean that they will have second thoughts of getting so tight against us

We don’t tend to dive with any touch Liverpool be falling over if we blow on em.
