The variable missing from your post is related to City’s (in-)experience in this competition.
I just hope we have a decent start against them, the last few years we always seem to be a goal down within the first 20 minutes. No doubt if we concede it's because of the atmosphere of the special European nights that money can't buy.
I really can't stand the cult around Liverpool. No league titles for 28 years but they've got all the history and next year is always their year.
Sounds bad!
When you look at the 11 players that will be on the field, the potential subs, and the managers Liverpool have less experience in this competition than City. Your point would be a good one if we were facing Barca, Real or Bayern. Hpwever, we are talking about a Liverpool side who have history in this competition, as a club, but for those on the field they have absolutely no advantage.
me too - coffee, whiskey in coffee, then take it from there!
I’m on the pink Gin tonight. @karen7 are u with me ? Nervous as hell but hope this inspires everyone

I hope he scores and slides on his knees in front of the Kop!I hope Pep starts Sterling and he tears a new hole on those scums with his two goals.
Sterling in front of the Kop when he scores the last minute winner.I hope Pep starts Sterling and he tears a new hole on those scums with his two goals.
You make a very good point it is very much a double edged sword. The general expectation is that Sterling will as on previous visits go into his shell and quiver every time he gets the ball and be ineffective. However, maybe tonight things will be different and he could turn on a five star display and silence the dippers. The manager is the man who is tasked with the responsibility of deciding which is the more likely outcome and we don't have much longer to wait to find out his decision. Either way I believe he knows best.Despite his poor performances at Anfield in the past there’s no way I’d be leaving Sterling out tonight.
Hopefully Pep will put his arm around him and give him the confidence and opportunity to shut the scousers up.
The thought of him scoring or even better getting the winner surely outweighs the possibility of him having a quiet game.
Also, any over-the-top challenges to get the crowd on side you’d hope would result in cards being shown.
Sterling has already shown mental toughness throughout the season and this will only go towards his character building, which will stand him in good stead for the rest of his City career
Yeah, why do they all start acting like the cast of Wicker Man around us? They're just another team to most City fans. It's a very one-sided rivalry.Jesus, we really are their cup final when we play them. Rags you have been demoted. It will be like taking candy off a baby when we score tonight.
If you want the BBC to yank up the volume, sing something nice about the Tories. Probably the same with BT.Guaranteed the BBC will turn up the effect's mic's for their sh*tty anthem tonight.
Get a load of this sentimental slop....
