Agreed but more difficult now with the premier league wage rules and the premier leagues own FFP. Our board had their ears to the ground last summer when they stated that the €50m for Bernardo Silva would be a steal by the end of the window!! It’s not just about how much money your owners have it’s how much they can actually spend against how much you generate and make? Even our owners due to wanting to be sustainable and run our business properly set limits unlike them pricks in Paris.

I would hope not, although that being said our punt on ignoring FFP while in the championship only cost us ~£3 million which we have already paid.

Upgrading your facilities doesn’t count for FFP rules anyway mate but I’m pretty sure for that reason that you can’t juggle figures around as it suits. For the record I like Leicester as a club and I think you guys are true and loyal fans but you also need to let mahrez move on and use the money to improve your squad and finally put all this to bed?

Costs for infrastructure are ignored for FFP purposes I think, you can't use them to offset anything though.

I agree that the situation with Mahrez needs resolving. If all it is is a difference in valuation of £60 million and £75 million then surely the clubs would already have agreed to £67.5 million?

I was told that city wanted £65m with bonuses that would take it to £75m but you guys want £75m upfront with bonuses?

Sounds pretty reasonable.

I was also wondering if they would like to announce deals during busy parts of the World Cup or prefer to wait 'til it thins out, or finishes, to gain maximum exposure & let the cheese factory do its stuff.

Yep agree with you premier teams are loaded with the money in the game. Out of interest how much profit did your club make laser financial year? But like most clubs in premier if you go down your in trouble just because of the wages being paid in premier and championship money is a pittance. Look at Vila now they are in big trouble.

It's a preference not a demand.

If Pep wants a player & it takes til the last day, they will continue negotiating. If there is someone else who he is equally happy with signing, then they can change targets.

Otherwise, Pep can start with the same team & bring in any new players when ready.
