Media persecution of Raheem Sterling

No matter what the lad does it won't be enough. If he did manage to score the winner in the semi final the press would still slag him off.

Paul Scholes used to get “Scholes never does it for England” hate stories from the media because of the United-Arsenal rivalry in the 90s (the media used to fucking LOVE Arsenal, in the last eight years they’ve taken the piss out of them daily). The media was pro-Liverpool and Arsenal back then and not so much United. Scholes got boo’d at an England game by England fans and that sparked off the whole “UNITED > ENGLAND” flags at United games and them always being seen to be anti-England.

It was only after Ferguson started banning people for printing stories he didn’t like about United did the anti-United stuff stop from the media. Now they’re the darlings of the media. Even Scholes used to just get laughed at for his dirty cynical fouls “oh he can’t tackle can he put Paul? Hahaha” - they turned from anti-Scholes/anti-United/pro-Liverpool/pro-Arsenal to total brown boards of the Rags.

I was listening to eithe bluemoon or 93.20 podcast and one of the guys on that was talking about how it isnt direct racist attacks on him, more like the Sun and Daily Mail pandering to some of their readership who want to read about how shit a young black guy is behaving,.

I believe it tbh, hate seems to be a commodity nowadays and there are people that buy this shit, probably just before they go out to give him a kicking outside the Etihad.

The rest of it is just pundits who dont read beyond the headlines and flock to join in the kicking since they have no independent thoughts!
 
Afraid we live in a blame society. Someone is always at fault. In this case it is Raz because he dared to leave the cable lighters. Some of the press have seen the light lately and started being really positive about him, dare I say it BBC TV, and it helps when Southgate came on bound with his statement. Some, like the Scum and Glenda, will never see the light.
 
Shouty and Alvin Martin defending Raz now, going to take calls on him, waiting for the Rag and Dippers coming on slagging him off and the fat cnut Mills agreeing with them.
 
I find it all rather strange that all season and in the past few weeks the media have been slagging him off. Then Southgate says he can't understand why people are having a go at Raheem and suddenly those people who have been slagging him off are now saying what an integral part of the team he is. Maybe it's because their darlings, Alli, Lingard and Henderson gave done the square root of fuck all...

Just had a discussion with a colleague in work about my weekend defending Raz against the vitroil he gets. He actually admitted that he started calling him during the first half but then actually realised what he does by creating space and running the defence ragged. We both agreed he needs to score but at least he managed to see what Sterling is actually doing.

Another colleague then piped up 'yeh I was calling him', I just fired back not to buy into the media hate that has been generated, stop being part of a pack mentallity and joining in with the hate and open your eyes - no reply back

Saying now Beckham and Sir Geoff Hurst are backing Raz and everyone should get behind him, so refreshing to hear. I hate persecution of individuals and genuinely felt sorry for David Moyes when the Rags paid for that aeroplane banner calling for him to be sacked.

93.20 did an initial podcast a few months ago where they skirted around the reason for sterlings treatment. They then did a special one following the furore around Sterlings tattoo. It was during this podcast Tudor and Ashan called it for what it is, racism.

It feels like fucking purgatory this. City fans have been aware of this for 12 to 15 months now, defending the lad. Now the main exponents of the cun@ism sterling has been subject to are feeding us what we've been trying to say all along.

Bolton prick on saying Sterling is not capable at this level and he could have put his chances away. Fair play to Mills, said he has never seen the the Bolton prick play but he doubted he would have scored, defending Raz is gathering momentum.
