Looked off the pace from the first minutes with misplaced passes and a general lack of zip. Wasn’t helped by de Bruyne and Gündogan failing to get into space between the lines, however. Don’t even want to see him on the bench for the next two games.

Actually, they both did that pretty well. What they both did poorly was fail to stay in the middle with Ferny. This gave him few easy passing options. Hence the penchant by Dihno to cough iu the ball today.

That said, it seemed this was by design. And Walker/Danilo were the 2 who were meant to help Dihno in the middle as both played signufasign minutes in that area.

Pep never stops innovating.

Thought they wandered too high, myself, especially in the latter part of the first half when we practically had 5 in a line at the top and acres of space back to the other 5. There was just no intensity to the play from anyone, save maybe Danilo, today.

I thought he was MOTM again. He controlled the midfield in his usual effortless manner,he made some great interceptions and he was always looking to find the pass to the to our frontmen.Taken off at a good time to protect him.

Was great as usual defensively but probably the worst I've seen of him going forward, lost count of how many times he gave the ball away. Although everyone seemed to be suffering from that.

Seems churlish to complain about our most important player but he is prone to giving the ball away in bad areas and conceding cheap free kicks more than he should. No one's perfect.

I think Pep had a right to expect more from several players.

Imo, when he saw how fucking useless Gundogan was in the role assigned to him, he should have changed tactic in order to protect Fernandinho & give him an easy game, rather than actually making it into one of his toughest games.

We were 1-0 up & free to do pretty much anything.

I'm not convinced it was one of Dinho's toughest games and I think he made errors that he could have avoided regardless of his team mates but I'd have to watch it again to see if I should have taken an alternative view.

Pep clearly changed some things at HT and it worked; plus Dinho got to come off early.

I think he did make plenty of errors. Lost the ball a couple of times & had passes intercepted.

Mostly, imo, because his only choice for a midfield 1-2 was a defender. So he tried to find midfielders & forwards, who were largely stood marked, behind a wall of Huddersfield players.

We finished the game with 3 men in midfield when we started largely with one.

Poor today, but we would probably be 5th if we didn’t have him. Should never have played in the FA Cup

Our best player so far this season but his SAD syndrome normally kicks in around January like it did last time at St James Park so I expect the worst.

Shouldn’t have played so long at the weekend, looked tired tonight.

Really concerned about Pep’s team selections at the moment.
