Yaya had a perfect record with pens (although I cannot remember him taking many in ‘big games’). I really worry who can be trusted to score them as it can/has been crucial this set
Like many others here I don’t feel 100% confidence when Sergio takes them especially as he has missed many and often mishits them. Not all our players play every game so there needs to be 2 or 3 that can step up. Gundogan seems best but doesn’t play every game. Sterling has improved finishing a lot but still susceptible to poor shooting.
I think KdB has the best qualities to be 1st choice - good technique striking a ball and always seems very calm.
The only others I would feel confident with are Sane (German) and Gabriel - however penalty-takers usually seem to be older players in most teams.
I think Ederson would be good too as he strikes so fast and accurately but think Pep woujd consider the GK taking pens as disrespectful to opposition and of course, issues about opposition counterattacking and scoring

WTF? I can only remember KDB taking one (Everton home a few years back) and it was saved. Gabriel has failed a couple of times too. I'd go for Gundogan who I believe is 6/6 in the CL (not with City though).

De Bruyne, Sane or Gundogan. All are very clean strikers of the ball.

They all are mate, for me a lot of it is between the ears

Aguero's problem has been in CL and not PL. In the Champions League he has scored 8 and missed 4. Also there were the couple missed in a CL qualifier.

In the league there is absolute no reason to take him off them. His record is good and holds up against any other player from Big 6 teams.

Scored/missed last 3 seasons (16/17 - 18/19) in the league from Big 6 teams:

Milner 11-1
Kane 11-2
Aguero 10-1
Hazard 8-1
Pogba 7-3 (18/19 only)
Aubameyang 3-1 (18/19 only)

Aguero all-time Premier league is 24-4 which compares well to the likes of Kane 18-3. Balotelli is 23-5 in league games England/France/Italy.

Goals are the lifeblood of mainline strikers i.e Aguero and Kane. Aguero continues to take them for me unless it goes completely tits up. And for selfish reasons I'd like to see him continue to beat up City and PL goalscoring records. Pretty sure he'd like to as well and helps with his overall confidence.

In their careers and excluding penalty shootouts, KDB & Gundogan have only taken 3 penalties each and Bernardo and Sane 0. KDB of course missed his only City penalty and it was shit. So a pretty much non-existent sample size irrespective of how well they might strike the ball.

Penalties were never my strong point, as is with some players. getting stats out to judge players is harsh. especially Serg, imo.

actually, in any other test ....you are right. but here are some facts on football......with all the millions playing it globally, no one has got 100% ever at the top level.

charley adams, and alexander from burnley were the only players i recall for being near that.
