Penalty Taker

Who should take penalties if Haaland is not on the pitch?

There is an element of truth in that. I can remember doing a penalty shootout in training for my Saturday team, I won so I got to take them when ever we first had one. Shit out and blasted it over, I've never taken one again. Shit example, but it does show you need a cool ahead rather than someone with the most ability.

Are you Alan Harper - that is exactly what happened to him.

Kompany has a 100% record for City taking pens, along with Yaya and Navas.

Some less notable recent 100% records:

Milner
Evans (3 scored btw)
SWP
Petrov
Hamman
Corluka

Too soon to make a ched evans joke?

I think yesterday was one of those things. KDB and Kun hit two bad penalties at a very nice height for the goalie. They should have done what Sam Vokes did today or KDB with his free kick vs. Bournemouth and drilled it along the ground. I think they will learn the lesson and this will become just a bad memory. I would be more worried if we hadn't created any chances.

Just thinking about this, we don't really have that cocky fucker anymore who will step up and just bang them in. We have down to earth humble lads these days, no one like Elano, Robinho, Mario.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Gabriel Jesus come in and become the pen taker relatively quickly, i think that lad will have some big penalty taking stones on him. Kelechi would take em, if allowed.

Like I said, you can't replicate a real game situation where a player is suddenly given the responsibility of scoring in front of a stadium full of people and points or cups on the line. You might think it's daft but countless others including many players and managers disagree.
The chances are players practise them all the time anyway. It's not like they haven't got the time or opportunity to do so. I just doubt very much it's something that Pep will make a part of any training session anytime soon.
I remember seeing a great penalty training exercise
All the takers team mates are behind the goal, jumping up and down taking the piss out of the taker and the taker has to walk from the half way line with the ball before taking the kick

Sergio misses about 1 in 3 of his pens, not sure why he is suddenly going to learn his lesson from Saturday. Just don't think he's a very reliable penalty taker tbh.
