I know the reason why they are trying to revoke her citizenship, but it doesn’t make it any less ridiculous (and globally unprecedented ifaik) if she doesn’t have dual nationality. It’s like condemning a corpse to capital punishment. Everyone has to have a nationality and we can’t sidestep that just because she’s a ****.

To be honest, I used Rolf Harris as a recent example of where our government has applied the law in a different way of the case of Begum. I, like most other people, don’t care either way with Harris but not taking back one of our own citizens who has broken the law seems wrong to me. She should be returned and tried properly in a court of law, just like all other citizens that have returned from Syria.

I think they don't want to bring her back because she's not going to go to court, not going to be convicted of any offence and not going to gaol.
