I know the whole team were bad including Zinchenko, but Mendy wasn't better.

If you keep going backwards and sideways it’s quite easy to not get dispossessed. Same. Also since seeing him put in genuinely brilliant performances in midfield for Ukraine, against Portugal, Italy, Nigeria, Serbia, I know there's a great midfielder there, but we never get to see it.

If the Euro's actually happen, it wouldn't be a surprise at all for him to be one of the breakout players of the tournament and get some big offers from clubs who'll play him in his position.

Pep is funny. Hes said publicly that he only realised he could play KDB in an 8 role because Di Matteo did, and I believe he actually admitted either Arteta or one of the other assistants had to force him into using Gundogan at 6 before he realised he was great there and never looked back.

So I think he genuinely might just not see it until something forces him to.
