Of course it isIs 5k acceptable five days a week? I feel proud of my efforts until I come on Bluemoon...

All of Manchester is flat isn't it? I can't think of anywhere outdoors in the Manchester Council area that rises higher than a flight of stairs.
Neither does running.People run around for fitness. Press-ups uses nearly every muscle in your body. Plus it doesn't fuck your knees up.
I think that's good - a very consistent performer.......Is 5k acceptable five days a week? I feel proud of my efforts until I come on Bluemoon...

Mix it up mate, 1 long slow run a week plus a couple of faster shorter ones is usually best I think. My post came across a bit weird by the way - some of the lads on here cover big distances!
I'm not sure whether it's better to work on speed or to cover larger distances at a slower pace. Very new to this still, this is one of the few genuinely educational threads on Bluemoon.

Well played mate - bit too hot for my liking today......... ;-)Perfect day for running today. Saying that just got back from 12k and jesus that hurt like hell. Nearly gave up a few times but managed to keep running right to the end. Slowly upping my distance on my once a week long run.
Cheers pal. Might be why i struggled as my last few runs ive felt really good. Now i have to resist the urge to eat a horse.Well played mate - bit too hot for my liking today......... ;-)
I would say don't compare yourself to others on here. Everyone is at a different level. We all have different profiles, and vastly different abilities.I'm the same as yourself, I can do 5k in 32/33 mins as my PB on a uphill park run. I buzz off that but then see on social media or on here for instance people doing 5ks in less than 20 mins.
Just do what's best for you :)
Literally just done mine at 7:50 :-)Roger Bannisters mile anniversary today. I can do around 7.50.. what's everyones PB here? If you haven't got one, get out there today and see how fast you can smash it
