Considering the state of Spurs with a squad in need of a rebuild and no champions league football I could see how they might be happy financially to sell Kane at the right price.

All the same from a footballing point of view they would risk a fan mutiny to lose him. He’s a local boy and the focal point of their marketing so even though it would make sense they probably won’t sell. In any event we’d be quoted £150m by Levy so can’t see us buying Kane.

didn’t they borrow £175m though due to COVID-19?

Apologies, Blues - life and the kids finishing school getting in the way more than normal these days!

Ake is correct. Hope it can get done next week for £30m plus add-ons.

Everton are keen on re-signing Stones but Otamendi's people are quite prepared to run down their final year.

Something seriously big is being worked on and seemingly not Koulibaly, either.

I'm still hoping it could be Havertz but not heard any more on that front and all the reports stating Chelsea are willing to pay £90m.

Hang on we could be barking up the wrong tree here. We might not be signing a top player but selling one.
Just saying

Looking at the links, this window in general, and Pep's comments about the squad remaining 80/85% the same, I can see maximum 5 players coming in. Two CB's, Torres, and then the fun starts.

Personally I think Koulibaly and Ake will both get done in the CB position.

From there it's going to be very interesting to see which positions they prioritise and I can't help but think that they will attempt to do something big, if not in fees, then in terms of PR, in the market. Whether that's a striker or something else we'll have to wait and see.

He wouldn't - Raiola has negotiated a £40m cut of his next fee - that makes his next move at least £150m.

City would not be party to giving Raiola that type of cut and we hate him in the first instance.
I would hope we could get Raiola to show some flexibility

Honest to god this site at times!! The most prolific goalscorer of recent times and some fans wouldn't want him. Crazy stuff.
Amazing to think some fans can look beyond the fact he's scored a lot of goals and see genuine reason why spunking 100m + on Kane might not be the best idea.
Proper crazy stuff.

The Kane talk, I gather, is speculation rather than some concrete link or ITK suggestion?

Either way, if you're turning your nose up at him then give your head a wobble.

It could yet be out of this world...

Hmm, out of this world you say? Just a couple of days after the UAE sends a rocket to Mars! We are going to sign the first ever Martian to play in the PL!

Or maybe they brought an enormous version of the Muppets banner with them, one that can be seen from earth! That would be out of this world for real

Good marketing wise. Might help us get some proper press....That is until England's number 9 doesn't play (;

If he scores 40 goals a season, does it really matter how many games he would play?

We have Sergio for another year, we have Gabs, we have Raheem - Foden will be chipping in with double figures next season.

City need to sort the Sergio successor this summer as next year the market may have corrected itself to previous prices or not far off.

Kane at 27 is a home PR win, he's lethal in the penalty box and, commercially, huge.

On top of which the way the old guard are acting with buying home grown players I can see some new foreign player limits coming in and although I’m not the greatest fan Kane would make sense from that perspective too

Something big could be numerous things?

If its trasnfer related then it could be referring to a player:

Harvetz - Unlikely as chelsea look to have him tied up and would we seriously go to 90m?
Martinez? - it would be a serious statement to steel him from under the noses of Barca- not everyones cup of tea however
Haaland? - a year too early? Would we go for him
Dembele from Barca as a replacement for Sane?

It couldnt be any of the big 4 players (Messi Ronaldo or Neymar or MBappe - I say big four in terms of transfer costs, profile etc)

However - does it relate to more who we would be buying a player off - ie a direct rival - A red scouse player, Bayern player (now that would seriously piss B. munich off). Remember the statement signing of Tevez - wasnt that he was just a very good player but it was about WHO we bought him off

Or could it be a new sponsor/financial deal that will have the Merseyside lot and the hateful 8 boiling in piss for ever and a day?

Hopefully its not Kane - just think his injuries are a major issue as well as I just dont think he is that good
And of course it could be a new contract for Pep

We need Kane. Hes nearing 26 (still only 25!). Coming into his best years. Homegrown.

Hes so good coming inside from the wide left too. Hes more of a Pep player than some give him credit for

Lewandowski type player with a record nearly as good as Aguero's, playing with poorer players
