He will still be here when the window shuts.
Firstly, I find it interesting so many of our fans want to keep him around until he get his affairs in order, like we haven’t waited long enough.
Secondly, no club in the league seems even remotely interested in signing him. Someone said a we have an offer of 15m?! Maybe Newcastle? I mean, isn’t that enough of a bad sign when pretty much all clubs seem to want to stay away, yet City, one of few clubs in the league capable of challenging for the Champions League, should be happy with him as an option? It doesn’t make any sense.
I know his wages could play a part here but I doubt that’s where the problem lies.
I have all respect for what John did for us but logic in this case just seems like it got thrown out the window.
BodyInjured in body or mind? that's the issue!
He isn’t getting a run of games with Laporte, Koulibaly and Ake ahead of him. And that’s not taking into account Fernandinho, Garcia and possibly even Tosin who’s currently training.
If Stones stays it’s to be as a 4/5th choice CB and we don’t need him for that role given the limited opportunities he will be afforded.
I think keep john, as you say better choice than anyone else's 4th choice, Eric cant be allowed to run his contract down,he has value to barca,he has euro's to play for so sell himI would keep him around because he's better than Garcia, even if he played pissed after eating a pizza, with chips & he's better than pretty much anyone elses 4th choice cb.

Maybe my main point is he is a quality player when fit and has run of games in the side.
Sorry, but no he isn’t. Pep starts a 19 yo Garcia and 35 yo DM Fernandinho ahead of a fit Stones. Pep is not happy with him.
I think for Pep to feel a bit better about his transfer choices over the years in defence (considering he now has bought Stones, Laporte and Aké, plus another one coming in), is to cash in on Stones who was initially considered a long-term right-sided centreback.
Also remember what Pep said about Stones a few month ago: ”We’ll have a talk. I want what is best for him”.
It’s impossible to come to any other conclusion other than Stones being shipped off.

Don't see the downside to keeping him as long as we bring another in.
The wage books would probably change your mind.
Stones is much better than Garcia but I accept Pep is not happy with him, probably lifestyle who knows. I really do not get the fascination with Garcia I really don’t.
