€30m in the end (including €5m in add-ons)

He’s not a #9 which is what was needed and as an inverted left winger he takes minutes from Ansu

Bartomeu and lack of sporting plan consistently laid bare

Great business, that's as much as Eric Garcia would cost!

Well, at least barts can't complain about not having the money to pay for him now.

A transition like this makes forcing him to stay all the more illogical but Bartomeu

Apparently, messi wants ansu out of the team, he is upset with him for changing agents from hos brother to j.mendes, and won't let him play, the evil midget. That's what barca press claim. I even heard he puts aubergines in his locker to send the message in the dressing room. Barcelona really should sell this type of bully. Better yet, send him off for free.

Liverpool wouldn't take Suarez on a free. His legs have gone, he can't play for Barcelona let alone Klopps footabll.

Juventus suit him perfectly, they've already developed to play slowly for Ronaldo and the build up is slower in Italy.

Yeah but Liverpool could just diagnose him with asthma on his medical and hey presto, Suarez is running like a madman again!

I agree that it seems like a weird signing for you but he has played a fair amount in the centre for both Lyon and the Dutch team. That's where he's started the first few games this season, too.

'Evil midget'......love it.

Oh, and the use of 'fud'.

Gave me a laugh this morning.

I would hope but even then he's not really a prototypical #9 to play between the two centerbacks. I just would like to not see Ansu's minutes eaten up by anyone. That left side should be him and right Dembele & Trincao - Leo will likely have to drop into a SS or false 9 role. And, again, Griezmann serves no purpose in this team

But hey, who said Bartomeu knew what he was doing

They are reporting in Spain that Bartomeu is going to ask Messi to take a pay cut and they are having another meeting about it this week.

Cant imagine that will be a long meeting.

B: I womder if you’ll consider a voluntary variation to your contractual terms, in the form of a pay cut.

M: No.

it’s written in your constitution, therefore outdated.... the thing with him is he’s been around the whole set up since Laporta, is he actually the fall guy or simply lacking in the brains department?

I think you look around Europe currently and there is a transition of people like him finding their way into the game at the very top, becomes hit and miss if you like: it’s a little like the NHS, business administrators running hospitals who haven’t the foggiest about care, it’s all margins....

at least the swamp up in Trafford have there very own version (:

He was head of the basketball section as a board member during Laporta's tenure from 2003-2005 (The club won no League titles during his tenure despite winning before & after), he also has a background as a former Asspanyol basketball player & club member to give you the full picture

His background in terms of business is managing engineering companies for ports & airports and is without question Rosell's most trusted lieutenant - in other words, nothing he does comes without the tacit approval of Rosell. They are inextricably linked. Rosell claims that he has promised his family he will not run again but I suspect them gaming the system somehow for a continuity candidate either via proxy or with Rosell

In terms of brains, no one is aware of his actual strengths whereas his weaknesses are chronically on display (Again, Rosell cannot be separated from this assessment)

Look at Grupo Godo, someone showed the difference between how the local media covered the motion to censure the president during Laporta's tenure & now and the difference is striking. Clearly, agendas played out and any successful authoritarian reign controls the media and ensures the governing body cannot remove them easily (They blocked attempts to add digital voting and made it more difficult to oust a President/board at the outset of Rosell's tenure).

In other words, their vision to consolidate power was in motion long before Rosell was elected with Bartomeu in 2010. Barca generates more revenue then any club in football, where there is money there are always those looking to profit and these corporate clowns are not motivated by any other factor - sporting success or philosophy is a remote target rather than a foundation

Reliable Dutch journalist says the RFEF won't let Barcelona sign Depay yet because they've not got the finances.

In Spain, instead of getting in trouble for failing their national FFP years after transfers that caused it, they only let you spend the amount you can get through FFP. So if Barcelona want to buy Depay they need to come up with some money.

When you add this to the rumours of Barcelona needing Messi to take a pay cut, and Suarez deciding he's not going to go anywhere unless he gets his full pay out, the "Bartomeu needs to sell Messi" situation seems to be really gathering speed.

Barca has some media house who print what they say. Now they say what bartemou wants but at the end barce themselves say no we havent said that. Like in messis transfer they said messis salary was deduced from the day he did not attend trainiing. But now they say no slary is cut. dirty bas***ds.

hopefully this is all gearing up for leo to join us asap!

Bartomeu is a dirty b@stard. He leaks news in media first to create pressure on the players.

Barcelona have to sell Suarez to sign players. Problem is suarez is saying give me this year's Salary and I will leave.
Ironically they asked the same for messi 700M or nothing.

Good going Suarez.. lmao!!!

I did mention that there were 3 parts to this Messi deal, the 3rd being can Barca pay Messi if his sponsors go under?
As for the transfer i do not think Messi wants to leave, i believe he is going for a boardroom job, using City was done with Pep and the owners full support, because when this is all over and the press are telling the world on how little City missed out again, the financial world has acknowledged City as the biggest club in the world. The only ones that could pull this coup off.
