There isn't time to get a real top striker in. Loan or veteran maybe.

We have been looking for cbs for years, so should have a load scouted. Get on with it, get a cb signed & at least sort out one area of the team, perhaps then we can win a few difficult games 1-0 or 2-1, rather than letting 2 in.

I'm a bit pissed off we don't seem to be looking for a LB as well, it's been a weak position for years, but we've been able to mix and match because of how good we were, but last season surely shows we need a reliable quality LB.

If we're talking about potential center backs, what about Ozan Kabak from Schalke? They just conceded 8 from bayern and he apparently wants to leave, and they could sell him for as cheap as 25m. Extremely talented and high potential, 20 years old. Decent player. Won bundesliga young player of the season a year ago.

Should we be in for him?

Nope. Part of the side that has conceded 8

100% and because I dont have 745 post I'll get abuse for the next bit. When the likes of Lyon, Norwich and United were beating us, at no point did I think "You know who we need...Nathan Ake!". Torres i have no clue about so cant comment on. I hope he can replace Leroy, but they are big boots to fill. The only way we get stronger is to by that CB we are crying out for, a LB and a CM who can defend. Rodri is a poor fit not a bad footballer but not the midfield enforcer we need. Same with Gundo, not shit but not the type to get stuck in in a battle!
I did tbf watching Garcia and Otamendi.

He’s great. Looks like a very complete CB. I know stats is not the mesaure of a player, but he’s statistically one of the best CBs in europe. He’s just very unfortunate to play with absolute bums. I can totally see Schalke have a drop like Sunderland

I know its easier said than done but I'd love us to sign Thomas Partey (43 mill release clause) and slot Rodri in at centre back. Don't get me wrong, Rodders is a lovely footballer, in terms of reading the game, ball manipulation, press resistant - he's mustard but I do worry about his pace when we're in transition, Fernandinho used to get us out of the shit so many times in games, Gaz Baz before that as well. I think he impressed at centre back away at Palace last season and he will definitely help in the build up areas. Partey is the destroyer we desperately need in front of the back four and he's impressed me every time I've seen him.

Way more expensive.

And need I remind you that ake's Bournemouth were also terrible? Not much you can do when you're surrounded by crap. He's by far their best player.

Ake is more acclimatised to the league and the two mentioned I wouldn't mind City paying the fee as they do look better prospects

decent centre half sees us regain the title, simple as that for me...

there’s already enough squad depth in the attacking third, for the prem that is, however, we are still a world class forward away from truly challenging for the champs league!

Silva was part of the problem last year as he didn’t have the legs to press.

Sane played 15 minutes of PL football.

of course our squad is therefore stronger than last season.

The real question in all this is, Do you think the team we have at present is strong enough to win the league or pick up other silverware . Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and those rag bastards have all improved from the start of last season.

This feels like the start of our last season to me. Going into it with glaring gaps in our team.

No leader, No right footed top quality C/B. No reliable L/B but a reliance on Ake and Cancelo to fill it.

Fern (35) Gundogan and Rodri with reducing or no pace.

And as it looks like 2 month more before Sergio comes back.

I hope I`m proved wrong I really do.

Yeah I genuinely do.

We scored the most goals and always do, with or without Aguero as it’s down to the system.

We conceded 2 more than Liverpool.

We are are stronger than last season and I personally think other teams strengthening helps City rather than hindering us. Last season, very few clubs took points from Liverpool which was part of the system and reason behind the 18 points gap. The more teams that can actually take them on, the better.

I think how many goals we score is miss leading. If we won every game 1-0 we win the league. The fact we hammer some teams shouldn’t disguise that we lost 9 games. I don’t see what has happened transfer wise to stop us losing those 9.
