Get off your high horse. The issue with any face covering with those suffering severe / industrial asthma isn't necessary lack of oxygen. It brings on panic attacks, resulting in rapid, deep breathing which, left as is could bring on an asthma attack.

If you have ever had an asthma attack or felt unable to breathe properly, you may have a liitle more understanding, and perhaps sympathy

Without breath, there is no life and, sadly many have medical issues that hamper the ability to breathe normally.

Trust me, I have been there regularly and it is far from funny as your children watch you in tears as you gasp for air.

So please, stop this bullshit that you think you know that it's a piece of piss for non mask wearers to simply Don a visor.

I have every sympathy with those who medically can't wear a mask. It's those protesters who are somehow linking it to freedom of speech and patriotism that do my nut in.

6 months in and my brother in law has not seen his wife at all, even on video. She had a massive stroke 4 years ago(she is now 80 and he is 90) and she is entirely bedridden and can only move her right hand. The nurses haven't the time to hold a video call so he gets a phone call every other day.

It appears that the government has other priorities than to help people like this. Surely some systems could have been devised to help. He has been self isolating in the hope that this might help get him in sometime in the future.

That is not on, call and speak to the sister or care home manager and insist facetime ,if they can do phone calls then they can do those, be polite but insistent the other option is if he can wear a mask , gloves and social distance then they can see each other through an open window , he can decide if he wants to do that

Looks like there have been a couple of cases of spinal cord inflammation which would limit mobility.

There shouldn't really be an announcement of what caused them until the trial runs its course or is shut down - the people running it know what they're looking at. Bit odd for US regulators to be iffy over this while UK regulators are happy to continue - I agree that that does look strange.

Increases of cases started in the 20's now spread to all

Higher cases not down to testing

6,000 new cases a day ,more in hospital and more deaths

Cases doubling every seven days roughly,if this continues we could be back to deaths in the 200's again by october

Immunity - there are cases of reinfection , immunity fades ,8% of the population have had it to date ,leaving the rest of us to getting it

Increasing across the country

Inpatients gone up since Sept 1st ,steady increase , deaths numbers might get a lot worse,back to 200+ deaths by Oct if we continue with this growth rate

Going into winter will increase it, we need to take the next six months seriously , greater than deaths from flu ,much more virilant - Chris whitty

Everyone has to do this collectively ,you cannot decide to take your own risks

Social distancing , masks, break the link between households and have covid safe workplace

Vaccines - many in late stage testing ,we are in a good position to find one ,maybe a small amount end of year available, more likely next year if we find one

We must tackle this collectively with the repeated rules,this can move very quickly

No surprise then that up North is seeing rises when compared to London. it's also an incredible statistic when you consider that would mean around 3-5 million were exposed, and that's from studies of people who had antibody tests which isn't everyone! I reckon 10 million have had it to get the deaths we had.

We have only reported around 400,000 detected cases in total since the start meaning our hit rate in detecting cases is less than 10%.

Not good when you rely on that hit rate to decide policy!

Though he said the decision has not been signed off yet from what he said it has been agreed in essentials and will not be a full national lockdown. Schools will stay open. But pubs may at a minimum be restricted.
