Is left back really a problem?

Getting a left-back seems a bit greedy at this point. We have Zinch, Mendy, Cancelo, Ake, Laporte, and even the likes of Walker, Fernandinho, and Bernabe who can fill the role. Unless there's a player like Robertson available, I think we should just keep our options open.

Bernabe?`The guy was absolutely awful in that position. Fernandinho at LB? Not sure. We need LB as we have only 1 natural LB. Zinchenko is average.

Its not greedy at all.

I wouldn’t say we ‘need’ a left back I think we could do with one but I get what he is saying we have options. Mendy has to prove himself, if he can’t do that from now until Jan then I would say we need one. But I have every hope that he can be a decent left back for us and then look at a younger player who can take his place in the next couple of years.
 
We have too many players playing in their wrong positions. Zinchenko and gundogan mainly. If we can move them on and bring a lb in the squad is looking more balanced.

Walker/cancelo perfect blend 1 attacking 1 defensive
Dias/stones very strong
Laporte/ake perfect
?/mendy needed
Rodri/ferna/doyle quality
Kdb/bernado world class
Foden/gundo great (would love aouer instead of gundo though)
Raheem/braaf bags of potential
Mahrez/torres great
Kun/jesus/delap absolute quality and varied skill sets.
 
What is Mendy even offering aside width and making up numbers.
 
Made no effort to get to the ball just now. Same as the Wolves goal. We're playing with 10 men every week (and that's when he's not injured).
 
Yes. Massive issue. He's done. Zinchenko not a LB, neither's Ake, and we should under no circumstances be playing a 60mil right-footed RB at LB. How do we spend so much on defenders and so few of them work out?

Why? Walker gave away the first goal, Garcia gave the second, third and let Maddison line up the 4th without closing down.

Mendy gave away the 5th but he was miles down the list of our problems tonight.

People don't like Mendy so they're piling into this thread but pick any LB in history on our XI today and it doesn't change the result.

Come on mate he was dreadful in possession before that barring one decent cross to Delap. The brainless foul was merely the cherry on top of a shit performance. One too many from him, we need far better.
