The most worrying thing is, he's starting to do things I never thought Pep would do - persist with players/systems that have proven not to work.

We used to have these frustrations with Mancini/Pellegrini, but never thought that would happen under someone as good as Pep.

It's painfully obvious that our current problems stem from the Gundogan/Rodri pairing in midfield and the continuing use of Mahrez in the team.

Where has the ruthlessness gone? The initial dropping of Aguero in his first season and the benching of Sane in his 3rd season - Both tough, potentially costly, decisions - but he made them and they proved to be correct as the results showed.

How he can sit there having watched how bad we were in the first half against Porto, watched how shit Mahrez was and then watched how much better we were after Foden and Torres came on - and then decide to start again with the same fucking team against West Ham is beyond me.

New players is the wrong description. Players bought in to replace the old guard.

Over last season and this 1?

Top of my head:
Cancelo
Mahrez
Rodri,
Mendy

Zin, stones, gundo and Bernie have all underperformed in this period.

Recruitment has beaten us. If the correct players had of been purchased the pep machine would of continued.
I do think perhaps recruitment is an issue but surely some of these issues are injury related too? For example Stones, Mendy and Gundogan have had many injuries but overall I feel like this is a coaching problem because all those players are very talented

Added on to this, he continues to play Garcia when he doesn’t want to be here. It feels like if he wasn’t Spanish and heading off to Barca he would never be anywhere near the bench or the first 11

I think Pep is ready to go,once Mrs pep left with his family i think he had already made up his mind that this was his last season He wants to go back to Barca and take up the reins there ,hence he was alleged to have told Messi to stay there and he persists with Garcia because he will mould him in spain and the lad gets all his experience at our expence and he certainly doesnt look as though he is enjoying his time here, its very sad but i think he has run his course with us and wants out, He was and is the greatest manager we have ever had but all good things come to an end and MCFC will continue

Hope your wrong but it makes sense. Has to be some reason Garcia gets games

He knows the players in attack are shit.

Why do people even bother writing this crap? What is the point of just inventing this bollocks, how does that contribute to the discussion or help you make a point? We scored 102 goals last season. The third highest scoring side in the history of the premier league.

And then we brought in a new winger to replace Sané who didn't kick a ball in that 102 goal season.

Ah but now the players in attack are shit.

Nice theory, only it falls apart when you realise Mrs. Pep didn't leave with his family. That never happened.

She left to look after he business for a while and took the youngest daughter. The other 2 children stayed with Pep in Manchester and now the other 2 have moved back too.

You don’t know much do you.

Not a great deal obviously i did believe she had gone back to Spain with the family i am happy to be proved wrong and hope he will stay but i would not put my pension on it

The only thing I can think is that he gave them a complete bollocking after the Porto game and then told them they had a chance to redeem themselves for West Ham. His selection tomorrow might indicate that his patience has run out with one or two of them (Or alternatively he may choose the same half arsed bunch again)

It feels like more and more posters are pushing this anti Spanish narrative. Could it be Stones is not ready to start a game and he is missing Laporte and Ake through injury.

It’s very possible, however I’m not a huge fan of players playing when they’ve stated their desire to leave and it feels as if he is given special treatment because he’s a Barca boy

Add to that injury list, Laporte, Ake, Jesus and Aguero again, he has rarely had less than 5/6 senior squad players out injured together at any time this season. If they are not training they are not being coached also playing 2 games a week and the consequent travel time not to mention the health requirement for recovery leaves little time for coaching.
