He will probably do 4231, but I'd like to see him develop our "weapons" in goal scoring/creating and think toward the future with our 433:
----------------------Bernardo/Sterling----------------------
Ferran--------Foden------------KdB-------------Mahrez
------------------------Gundogan
Ake----------Laporte------------Stones/Dias-----Walker/Cancelo
1) If Aguero is still not fit, then rest Jesus, and give Bernardo a chance as a false 9, he needs more game time. He hasn't impressed much lately, but I think theoretically, a false 9 role is something he can develop greatly into.
Bernardo, Foden, KdB, Gundogan would be a strong midfield to not lose the ball and to create.
Bernardo as a very deep false 9 (basically not even a striker at all) could allow Ferran and Mahrez in more goal scoring opportunities as well. Jesus does this too very often.
2) Ferran-Foden is a weapon to develop, and they perfectly complement each other like KdB-Mahrez do as well. Opposite foots, can swap positions comfortably, and dynamic, Pep needs to unleash it.
I know Pep doesn't like Foden playing with KdB in the midfield, because they are too similar, but this is Foden's future position, not winger, let him learn it and he still offers alot centrally.
If I was to play Sterling, I'd play him Striker and have him just run behind a defense using his speed, Foden and KdB would send him through balls centrally.
3) Gundogan over Rodri right now because he is too good to drop, and plays the 6 role better than him imo right now. Atleast against the low block I'd prefer Gundogan, maybe against faster counter attacking teams, Rodri would be better.
4) Inverted fullbacks as usual to support the DM. I really like Ake here, and I think he can develop into a very good defensive LB, wherein he can atleast get gametime so he doesn't look rusty when he has to play LCB.
Laporte should get a game here because it feels like he's been dropped for like 6 games recently, but Pep will probably go Stones/Dias.
