I think we will learn a lot about the defence from this game if Southampton play like they have done so far this season instead of parking the bus like they did in June.

Southampton have a good striker, some inventive passers of the ball, supporting forwards in good form, it will be a good test for (presumably) Dias, Walker and Stones.
Very much, they havent been given too much of a rough ride yet as we have been on top in our games, despite results.Ultimately though,we need Pep to get the midfield right.

To be brutally honest, we've not looked at all comfortable since we got turned over by Norwich last season. We had a bit of a 'spurt' when football returned after the lockdown but it was just another false dawn.

Guardiola's demeanour has changed completely since he threw the Lyon game away - He's been treading water for the last 18 months and is looking more and more like 'yesterday's man'. I still can't believe that he had the gall to sign a contract extension.

The buck stops with Guardiola and Bergiristain - Time to cut them loose before they try to piss away another fortune on Messi.
Didn't Pep say that he will call it a day when the players stop buying in to his methods?. Has that day arrived then, it doesn't seem far away to me?

No guarantee with Pep, but surely Torres deserves another chance to impress from the start. Sterling is misfiring at the moment and Mahrez is inconsistent.

Quite evident we are struggling up front and Pep needs to change things.

Lets hope the clueless shithouses version of Southampton that turned up for the 2nd half against the rags turn up again at the weekend

Just read a report that Pep held an inquest with the squad today about what was going wrong. Hopefully everything was thrashed out, a few home truths were said, and we see a different approach and attitude

We’ve been waiting for that moment for a long time tho, it’s just not happening

Ederson
Walker Stones Dias Laporte
De Bruyne Gundogan B Silva
Torres Aguero Jesus
No Mendy, no Mahrez. Keep it simple at the back and let the attacking boys do their jobs.
