Peaks is probably nearest for most but the lakes is my most favourite place in all the world. Scafell Lloughrig fell or Oldman of Coniston I absolutely adore being on.

Coniston loop is perfect then in the lakes or we can do kinder scout and loop back to Edale in the Peak District. Soon as things get back to normal I’ll fort something properly.

I have AllTrails app which is really useful but I always get an OS map of where I’m going just to be on the safe side, always take a compass too.

Where you get the maps from mate ?

Buy them online from Amazon

You can also download the GPX app to your phone and then most online walks download the GPX file. It's basic but really good at keeping you on track

Usually Amazon, check where I’m going to walk then order the OS maps for that area.

My god. Thats why I keep off Snowdon from April to October. Love going up off season like now. Especialy if theres a bit of snow.

I have a boxful of OS maps from 80s and 90s Covers most of country from South Midlands up to borders in 1:50k, plus Most of Northwest in 1:25k plus wayfarers of popular walking areas also 1:25k
Not up to date with new housing developments but the hills and woods don't change.
Some well-worn but usable, some as new.

Charity shops don't want them, scouts use computers nowadays. It would be a shame to put them on tip.
Quite heavy. If anyone wants the lot they can collect at Junction 19 M6.
