Thanks Kaz.
I go from shivering intensely to my head throbbing with heat.

I think part of it is this flat...it’s a cold flat with an awful source of heating (dry).
Cannot wait to move on....2021 started so well for me and now this.
Pools of condensation other times...

what’s the recommended amount I can take of birth ibuprofen & paracetamol?

Although I have mild asthma this only usually presents as me clearing my throat with coughs (especially when running) but I have brown steroid & blue inhalers.
Feel really heavy so presumably thus is low oxygen levels....I’ll go drink some fresh air in through the window.

What day do you turn a coconut into a friend?
As @kaz7 said don’t take ibuprofen unless you are certain that you don’t have sensitivity to NSAIDs which can occur in some people with Asthma.

Any sign of todays death figures ?
No further update on the delay and none of the other data posted either though I have already posted in here more than is up and more than they will put up before tomorrow when they do get round to it - as the hospital patients and ventilator data for England is always a day behind for some reason.

We only seem to be missing the out of hospitals deaths for England. We have had all the rest and posted in here since 2 pm!

They were 1018 deaths from all but out of hospital England numbers - so its likely to be around 1400 I would guess.
That is how many deaths were from England yesterday after 1012 HOSPITAL deaths so 388 added from all settings.

But mid week is always a big catch up number.

Today we are starting from 884 in hospital in England - 128 less. So it would have to rise to over 500 out of hospital even to match the 1400.

So I would guess between there and around 1300.

But if there is a huge number OUT of hospital in England big questions need asking as to why. And it is possible they have found some that went missing and are wondering how to add them on. In one go or sneakily.

Considering we have 24/7 rolling news these days I doubt they will slip under any radar tbh.
There’s been a lot of problems with Virgin Media connections today so if their IT supports any of the data collection, it might be a factor contributing to the delay.

Not sure in all fairness.
I've been taking ibuprofen for years but only diagnosed with mild asthma ten years ago. Any idea of reaction symptoms if I'd have an allergic reaction to them (obviously if I'd have severe reactions I would've known by now).

Thanks.

They would affect your breathing , just to be sure stick to the paracetamol , take it 4hrly , regular is better than adhock , plenty at the chemist now, soluble works faster

I have no idea why they did not just update what they had if it really is only a part of the death figures But they have updated nothing at all since their message I posted earlier. Still all last nights data.

Here is what the site says:

13 January 2021

Due to an issue with the processing of deaths data, the update for 14 January 2021 is delayed.

So it only specifies deaths data yet it knows all the numbers bar the out of settings England number as the relevant places published them all hours ago. And all the other data - cases and hospital ditto.

It is frustrating that you end up suspecting things that may not be true if they withhold posting anything at all.

And if it is a tech issue on all the data why not say so. They have before when it was.

I asked my wife who is a Pharmacist and she says if you have taken them this long you should be OK. But paracetamol is always preferred to Ibuprofen.

My reaction was a tightening of the chest and shortness of breath, similar to a moderate asthma attack, that was nearly 20 years ago and I haven't touched them since.

Ferguson's prediction isn't looking as ridiculous as people made out now btw. Excess deaths are around 100k already. He said 500k if no one did anything at all. With even more overrun hospitals and literally zero measures i don't think that that would be that far off over the course of the entire pandemic. We'll probably be looking at 130k by spring. Not hard to imagine it being 3 times that with life carrying on as per usual and zero interventions
Tbf I was more thinking about his lockdown jaunts to his married girlfriend.

This lockdown is going well, this from this morning at Canning Town tube station and pictures on the train.

That is horrible to see but I guess the train could include doctors, nurses and other essential workers.

No doubt some being forced to go in as they gave managers who simply cannot manage/cope with staff working from home.

Temp raised now and I feel utterly useless and that weird depression you get.

Horrid....
Eurgh those moments are utter shite. I can only tell you about my experience and what I've found that helps. My really grim moments don't last forever. I had two/three really poor days just now, but usually, an hour or two later I'm back raring to go, most of the time. I get low anyway, but these are worse. It's important for me to reset and lose the worst trains of thought that plague me at that point.

So I'd say, don't be afraid to head back to bed. I'll sometimes take a 30 minutes powernap, reset, wake up having forgotten whatever was going round in my head, ready to try something else. It's good for passing 'somatic' anxiety and depression. Little bit of sugar will often help as well.
Thanks Kaz.

Sounds like just COVID TBH. My uber cold thing comes regularly, 5-8 hours after waking up. Sometimes I catch it, sit in front of the radiator, then I'm ok. Last few days, went to bed, then I'm burning up big time.

The twist is probably that your warmth and blood is funnelled back into your core to fight the infection. Your extremities can get very cold. Your head can be an extremity or it can be the destination for the heat. This is complicated by COVID being shit for your circulation.

Either way, you don't need to bake yourself, just don't let part of you get cold. My guess is it throws the thermostat during a tricky operation.

Do not take Ibuprofen on an empty stomach. Try to eat something. Even if it's just something small and sweet. Hot tomato soup is brilliant. Later, water, water & more water for inflammation

Eat nothing and you're robbing your body of stores of energy. Your body will be in a keto frenzy. Which really isn't all that comfortable anyway, can be flu like and depress you. Give yourself a break, sugary hot drink, suck a sweet or have a bit of chocolate. Hot ribena is a favourite. Just don't get hooked lol.

Horrific story heard from a mate who has a friend who is a nurse at darenth valley. there is at times 4-5 dead people laying there all day with no one taking them away. This is causing massive stress for NHS workers.

I can tell you that in that 1400 deaths from England reported yesterday these were the numbers in GM

For a little perspective.

Bolton 6 - 13 in past week - 560 in total
Bury 3 - 14 in past week - 402 in total
Manchester 8 - 18 in past week - 756 in total
Oldham 5 - 18 in past week - 480 in total
Rochdale 1 - 15 in past week - 505 in total
Salford 3 - 12 in past week - 476 in total
Stockport 3 - 14 in past week - 456 in total
Tameside 3 - 14 in past week 542 in total
Trafford 3 - 7 in past week - 350 in total
Wigan 9 - 19 in past week - 803 in total,

Almost certainly, and it's putting them at risk of not being able to work if they catch it.

I can't believe that in all those people on the platform and train that there weren't multiple people with the virus.

TfL should be preventing that happening at this current time.

On Merseyside the numbers were

Wirral 9- 16 in past week - 512 in total
Liverpool 9 - 19 in past week - 829 in total

You can imagine the fun being had on the PHE Twitter feed. Gov uk do not help themselves when this happens - as it does every few weeks.

It typifies the way this whole thing is run creating unnecessary conspiracy theories rather than cough up their tech is on the blink again and we will post it all in the morning once we can get a socially distanced expert out.

If it was just a small part of the death figures they would have updated the rest.

I am not waiting up all night for them and they probably went home hours ago anyway and forgot to say.

They have updated after past problems this late but I do not recall them ever doing so after 10 pm.

Felt a bit perkier this morning but as the afternoon has progressed I’ve sank. Sat in my parka wrapped in a huge blanket with the heating on (which is a fan heater which makes me wretch as it’s that dry heat).

I’ve been slightly sick and appetite gone.
