New striker?

I can't see us paying silly money for any player, i would be shocked if we spend more than 80m absolute tops on any 1 player over the next few years. Our pattern appears to be that we will pay good money but that the player we get is a little bit of a surprise. Rules us out of any bidding wars.

And also that we'll buy multiple players for good money.
Similar transfer fees tend towards similar wages, which seems to be our way of keeping everyone happy. Only way I can see us going big on the fee is if it’s quite a young player, where you can probably get away with paying a lower wage for the first contract, unless the competition blows you out of the water. That’s less likely with Covid.

I don't think we'll pay silly money but I think we'll pay more than £80m for the right player. We didn't pay that much less than that for Diaz, so, if we'll pay that for a CB, should the right player be available, we'd pay more for a quality striker.
