New striker?

If we got either I'd be happy, doubt we could afford or would want to play both. If we can get one of these I expect we will, but we might get neither, in which case I would still expect us to sign someone.
I was asking if that is who you meant by the 2 best young forwards.

I can't see us paying silly money for any player, i would be shocked if we spend more than 80m absolute tops on any 1 player over the next few years. Our pattern appears to be that we will pay good money but that the player we get is a little bit of a surprise. Rules us out of any bidding wars.

And also that we'll buy multiple players for good money.

That sounds shit. May as well accept mediocrity and battles with Spurs for top 4 if that’s the case. I sincerely hope the club hasn’t come this far to settle for that.

When there is an absolute need to sign the best we can get then we must go for it, don’t sit back and bottle it because big bad rags or Chelsea get their wallets out. We have to compete and win.
I know it does and I hope it’s bollox but I have a sneaky feeling it will be Nunez . Funny thing is we could blow any other team out of the window if we wanted to but we always seem to be conservative with our offers . If we are to sign Haaland then going in with a piss take bid will fail and we need to be prepared to go to near £90 million plus for him as I think loads will be in for him .

Just think his price will be more acceptable to us because we don’t like to pay really big money on players . Forget mbappe and Kane as if won’t happen and i think we will not get into a bidding war for haaland either .

Yeah that's a good point. I think Martinez

Doubt it, but what a signing it would be.That guy could break the PL record with us.

Fun fact, he's the only player in the top ten PL goal scorers, to have scored more goals away from home, than at home.

Similar transfer fees tend towards similar wages, which seems to be our way of keeping everyone happy. Only way I can see us going big on the fee is if it’s quite a young player, where you can probably get away with paying a lower wage for the first contract, unless the competition blows you out of the water. That’s less likely with Covid.

I don't think we'll pay silly money but I think we'll pay more than £80m for the right player. We didn't pay that much less than that for Diaz, so, if we'll pay that for a CB, should the right player be available, we'd pay more for a quality striker.
