New striker?

Very few options and one of the most likely ones has renewed. Considering we're replacing Aguero, Darwin Nunez is probably favourite. Hopeful for Haaland though.

It won’t be Darwin Nunez. Could be Haaland, could be Kane... we’ll see

That was a nothing competition. I watch Benfica frequently. Their own fans don’t like him. He’s underwhelming in almost every game. He’s not seen as a major talent by the media in Uruguay, his home country, either. I know the conservative fans think it has to be him because it’s basically the only cheap option that has been talked about, and others believe Benfica has some kind of witchcraft or magic touch with their players and us. This ain’t the guy, believe me. Not for now, at least. We might have to look for another striker in the 22 summer window, and then he might be seriously considered, pending form.

I also spoke to a Benfica fan, today, who thinks he's brilliant. Personally, I do not want a new striker.
 
I know everyone is talking about us signing a new striker but if Aguero ends up staying and we do get Messi I don’t see us getting one and I think that’s what will happen. I’m not saying that is what I want as would love Haaland but just don’t see it happening.
 
We should have signed a striker last window. It’s obvious that we will sign one. People are crazy

That’s what I’m saying if it’s not him which personally I do t think it will I don’t believe there is anyone who is obtainable that fits the bill. Hence why I believe’if’ we acquire Messi we will give it another year where we will know if the likes of Nunez etc. are up to scratch

But there are enough credible journalists pointing to our interest in Haaland to know it’s real. And if we’re looking at him as the top target, there has to be plan B and a plan C — for this window. Messi wouldn’t solve the striker issue (see Barça)

I’m not saying we are not interested but there are a lot of other clubs interested and I feel other clubs would be more ruthless and there is the possibility that he stays an extra year and he just goes for his release clause the year after. And that’s what I’m saying who is plan B because I don’t see an option that is better than keeping Aguero and extra year and utilising Jesus and using Messi as a false 9 etc.

I guess we will have to wait a few months to know who the plan B is but I’m hoping we never find out ;)
 
This is a out there suggestion but what about Mbappe? i read up that Real Madrid are struggling the same as Barca with Covid and their funds such as they are willing to listen to any offers for their players. Maybe we can pounce and grab him from PSG while their struggling

Mbappe isn't happening and lets be honest, they can shift enough crap to make their funds back up to spec. Ceballos, Isco, Nacho, Mariano, Diaz and all them will be sold for 100m+ easy. They have even made noises about sacrificing wages of Ramos and Bale is on his way out also.

I’d take Mbappe first but can’t see it, then I can’t see Haaland either. Thing is though Madrid are linked with both and Barca can’t afford either, so wouldn’t mind being second or third choice for either.

I think the Spanish Gov/banks will save them for ever as they usually do.
