Political relations between UK-EU

And - whilst I might be wrong (but really doubt I will be) we will find out that the Contract Ts&Cs do not remotely provide any justification for the EU's threatened actions (I have been tied up today so may be out of touch with developments)

What AZ suggest is the situation reflects 'standard' provisions - I really do not believe that the EU have negotiated something 'special' - how would that have worked really?

It certainly won’t be explicit, it would make no sense. The EU could argue best endeavours implies using all production facilities but that would be to stretch a point

The EU problem with the AstraZeneca vaccine is of their own making, to slow in the decision making process, UK vaccine producers had a 3 month head start to tweak things and improve yields. And I wonder how many UK citizen's would have been vaccinated if we were still part of the EU? Nowhere near the current numbers that's for sure.

Their argument around the best endeavours is that it does not pertain to all aspects of the agreement (their other APAs would back that up), not just whether AZ has fallen short on the parts that do.

One thing they’ll probably argue around that though is the late notification of change of schedule would be a breach.

Ha ha ha - Johnson promising UK fishing that by 2026 there will be an "El Dorado" waiting for them - there will be no UK fishing industry left by this summer the fat fucking clown. Was 2026 on the side of a bus does anyone recall?

Has anyone established whether signing a contract first means you get priority in delivery over someone who signs later? That's like saying if I book a flight in January and the plane is overbooked I should get priority on the flight over someone who made the same contract in February.

Or several people each sign a contract with a builder to build them a house. The builder can't get enough bricks so only builds one house. Who gets it? What remedy do the other people have?

For all the people who claim to be expert in contract law, I don't think one has mentioned "performance", which goes to the heart of the matter.

What is actually in a contract to supply a product that does not even exist when the contract is signed?

There are companies in the EU producing the AstraZeneca vaccine, ask yourself why they aren't up to speed. The words red tape spring to mind.

The EU have asked that. They inspected the factory (for the anti-EU press, a "raid"). If you know why the AZ factories in the EU are producing less vaccine than the UK factories, tell us.

Is that you complaining about hyperbole while admitting to using an exaggerated example (aka hyperbole)?
I’ll change my post and won’t be so rude because I know you can’t help it...

Sometimes people use an over-exaggerated example, with humour, to make a point, and in doing so make it obvious to everyone it was over-exaggerated.

An example would be someone in the Covid thread last night in response to the new vaccine being produced out of the north east of England saying “the EU have demanded they get all their doses first”. Now of course this hasn’t happened and he’s joking but there’s a hint of truth in there regarding their behaviour and he’s used humour to make the point.

Now I know you do struggle, so I’ve explained it to you, I just hope you and the two plonkers that liked your post digest what I’ve said.

I see that Wee Jimmy Fishwife has unveiled yet another top political characteristic - opportunism. The EU have fucked up over vaccines and are having a swipe at the UK in the search for a scapegoat, and the attempt by WJF to cosy up re possible membership just confirms what I think of politicians.
Wee Burney has 538,000 unused doses she could send to her future employers. I'm sure they'd be grateful and such logistical skill would ensure her future job as a European Commissioner.

As one of the plonkers that liked Vic's post I have read and digested what you said and have come to the conclusion that your post is bollocks.

Someone who's said I hate my country and called me a dope thinks I'm being rude.

I was only being hyberbolically humorous.

Get a grip.
