That’s a promising increase.Wales vaccination update
822, 633 first doses given - 15, 282 yesterday - up from 11, 424 yesterday
19, 342 second doses - 6354 yesterday - up from 5737
Have you rang 119 ? Spoke to them yesterday about someone with underlying health conditions, they were very helpful. My wife is classed as vunerable and I have been caring for her both in late 50s and haven't heard a peep. Rang the gp and told don't ring us again you'll be notified as they are all out doing vaccinations got on website and couldn't get anywhere
I agree with this Nellie's left peg - it would certainly do no harm to ask. In your position if still a carer even given that age I would too.Have you rang 119 ? Spoke to them yesterday about someone with underlying health conditions, they were very helpful.
Sounds to me like she is repeating what has basically been said by the government during the week .Nicola Sturgeon talking sensibly about how we come out of lockdown. Priorities being get to really low numbers first. Then do testing effectively to stop it rising. Pay attention more to how travel - both across the UK and to outside the UK - will act as a re-seeding mechanism especially from less vaccinated nations.
She knows she will face pressure to move quickly into a kind of normality as numbers go down.
But unless we act more carefully and slowly we will be back in lockdown next winter. Which we want to try to avoid not throw away the opportunity given by the vaccinations and the optimism of falling numbers.
That sounds pretty wise to me.
yeah, well when I know older relatives haven't had theirs yet it doesn't sit well 2bh.Age is not the only criteria at all. Vulnerability is. Of themselves or someone they live with.
Now they have got through most down to 60 (and pretty much all within a couple of weeks probably) age will take second place to underlying conditions even more because the sub 60 age risk is not a steep drop like the 60 - 65, 65 - 70 , etc upper age ranges are - nor genetic factors that likely only the GP will know are relevant.
My GP told me that were I still a full time carer as I was for 14 years up to a couple of years ago I would have got mine in January. A month before I did. Just for that reason not age related at all as it was protecting a more vulnerable person who could not avoid contact with me daily.
It is a sign the vaccination programme is going better than expected not cheating.

Yes, Wee JK is repeating Bojo’s script and using “offered” vaccinations too. If it works, go for it. She’s thrown in a Scottish border reference for he core support.Sounds to me like she is repeating what has basically been said by the government during the week .
She’s spot on.Nicola Sturgeon talking sensibly about how we come out of lockdown. Priorities being get to really low numbers first. Then do testing effectively to stop it rising. It's not jumping the queue. It's a sensible move to vaccinate people in your position. Crack on.Got a bit of a moral dilemma tonight.... i work as a psychotherapist and got an email tonight from the BACP - the regulator saying I can jump the queue and get a vaccine because I work with lots of vulnerable people. Will sleep on it... but not sure I want to jump the queue - I have no underlying health concerns so my instinct is to wait my turn... Any views?
I’ll just echo other thoughts... take the vaccine, you work with vulnerable people.Got a bit of a moral dilemma tonight.... i work as a psychotherapist and got an email tonight from the BACP - the regulator saying I can jump the queue and get a vaccine because I work with lots of vulnerable people.
