I hope fifa, uefa and the fa stand strong and ban any teams breaking away from domestic competition and the players from international football.

A wage cap works in US sports because there isn't another place in the world to go and play American football, basketball, baseball or hockey and make close to as much money as you can in America.

Not true in football (soccer).

And neither baseball nor hockey get their best players from American colleges, but through a minor league system, which is ultimately what the domestic leagues would become for the Super League clubs. Increasingly, basketball gets its best players out of high school or after only a year or two of college too.
But Europe is the only place to play football at the top level. Latin American leagues might not have a wage cap, or a limit to the wages:turnover ratio, but there is (for now) nowhere near enough money in their league system to remotely compete with Europe. Not sure about the MLS though, to be fair. Anyway what I mean is clearly this super league isn't proposing a literal wage cap, but a limit to spending will have a similar effect.

I think if we were genuinely not a part of this the club would have already released a statement saying so to protect the image of the club.

Bayern Munchen made promise to their fans that they will never support any Super League.

This is the reason
Credit to them for sticking to there word. City have been incredibly stupid to go along with this. Maybe we backed it as we feel we have no other option and don’t want to be left outside when this invariably happens. Haven’t even checked on United score the game is dead to me

It seems we were the last to sign up and with no representation to me this stinks of it being better to be inside the tent pissing out than the other way around. If this becomes the new Cl then the top players and managers will want to be part of it. Fail to sign up and we basically become a Europa League team with morals. I just hope the FA threaten to expel all 6 teams.

City should make a statement that we are not interested and demand the English clubs behind this need to be kicked out the premier league next season, we should be seen to be taking the righteous path for the majority of fans in this country.

I imagine City will be in a lot of legal trouble if they have been stupid enough to sign up to this and then try and back out now.
The teams have only signed up to “an intention” that’s all at this stage, or that’s the way I read it.

And Arsenal.

never thought I’d say this but thank god for Bayern Munich
They have it even better in the Bundesliga than they would in a Super League, which I'd guess is the only reason they haven't signed on. 50+ rule allows them to keep any competitors in check and the other owners are happy to cede the league to them -- small cost for full stands and positive net income annually.

Hopefully City will see the percentages in not getting involved with these self serving cnuts. Part of the joy of the last 10 years or so has been taking huge chunks out of these entitled wankers, I certainly don’t want us to be part of their cozy club. Whatever happened to sporting integrity?

ps got the rags on in the background, ratboy is spitting feathers about this super league idea, says they should all be deducted points :)

If this break away from the English League structure happens, I am no longer a City fan or indeed a football fan.
It's been a blast.
I can't believe any English club would ever quit the PL which is much more lucrative than any European competition. Nor would the PL throw out the big clubs. This is a fight between the US owners and UEFA and City are stuck in the middle. The irony of course is that the CAS decision in our favour made UEFA's position in this battle even weaker which may not help us in the long run.

Soriano wanted to create global brand with CFG etc so there was no way we would have stayed out. Yes we may have nit signed but we have agreed. Shame. We can still back out. But in few hours it will be official

Good on them. I'm absolutely furious and disgusted by City, lets hope they see common sense, and back out of this shitshow, if not we will deserve everything we get.
That's presuming we have signed up to it or indeed that it's not some sort of power play with UEFA since their new format is supposed to be announced on Monday.

I'm holding fire until I see a statement on City's website.
